Witches of East End debuting in Canada date and date with US

WitchesofEastEndThe new Lifetime drama series Witches of East End is coming to Canadian screens at the same time as it premieres in the US.

Lifetime in Canada has picked up the enchanting drama series Witches of East End, starring Julia Ormond (Mad Men), Jenna Dewan-Tatum (American Horror Story), Rachel Boston (In Plain Sight) and Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks) for launch this year.

Set to debut day-and-date with Lifetime in the U.S., the series joins a remarkable roster of scripted dramas including The Client List and the all-new Devious Maids coming this summer.
Based on Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel, Witches of East End follows Joanna Beauchamp (Ormond) and her two adult daughters Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (Boston) whom, unbeknownst to them, are their family’s next generation of witches.

Leading ordinary modern day lives in Long Island’s secluded seaside town of East Haven, when Freya becomes engaged to a wealthy newcomer, a series of events forces Joanna to admit to her daughters they are powerful and immortal witches. Mädchen Amick stars as Joanna’s mischievous witch sister Wendy.

Maggie Friedman (Dawson’s Creek) wrote the pilot, which was directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls), and will executive produceWitches of East End with Erwin Stoff (The Matrix) of 3 Arts Entertainment. Lifetime® has ordered 10 episodes of the Fox 21-produced series.
