90210 gets the axe after five seasons

9021090210 has been axed by The CW network in the US.

The teen drama series will end after its current fifth season this year.

“The CW has had five great seasons with America’s favorite zip code, 90210,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz. “I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”

The series has been struggling to pull audiences of late with a series low of a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 550,000 for the February 18 episode.

Cameos have included Ne-Yo, Billy Ray Cyrus, Taio Cruz and Olly Murs, who is due to make an appearance later this season.

Michael Jackson’s son Prince Michael is also making his acting debut this year on the show.
