PrettyLittelLiarsPretty Little Liars now has a spin-off: Ravenswood.

The new series will centre on a town called Ravenswood, which is not far from the setting of Pretty Little Liars in Rosewood, PA.

“Pretty Little Liars is brand-defining and demo-defining for ABC Family. We are proud to be able to grow the PLL franchise in two ways — both by adding additional seasons of the original and by extending the storytelling into a spin-off. Ravenswood will become another ‘must-tweet-TV’ series for us,” said ABC Family president Michael Riley.

kd-langk.d. Lang has been confirmed for a performance at the 2013 Juno Awards.

CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that the incomparable k.d. lang will perform on CTV’s live broadcast of The 2013 Juno Awards.

Lang, the 2013 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, becomes the eighth performer confirmed for the broadcast, and joins previously announced acts Billy Talent, Carly Rae Jepsen, Hannah Georgas, Marianas Trench, host Michael Bublé, Serena Ryder, and The Sheepdogs. Continue reading »

Kourtney & Kim Take Miami - Season: 1A top immigration lawyer has said she hopes Canada doesn’t end up like a Kardashian sister.

Toronto-based Jennifer Nees was talking in regards to the reality TV crews filming immigration raids for the purpose of screening on Border Security: Canada’s Front Line.

She believes that the show feeds “that xenophobic, anti-immigrant attitude you read in the comments section of any online news article about immigration.

“The raid that occurred, and was caught on video, affected real people who have real lives in Canada. Yes, some of them were illegal and in catching those individuals who are admittedly breaking the law, I suppose some type of justice is being served. But to televise it and possibly expose the identity and location of refugee applicants seems a step too far.” Continue reading »

The Courtenay Cox comedy series will return for a fifth season after its new American network TBS gave the greenlight.

“Cougar Town has been everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines a bright light on the TBS brand,” said Michael Wright, TBS president of programming, in a statement.

The Social is a new one-hour talkshow from Bell Media In-House Productions that will air weekdays starting in fall.

ICF Films and Entertainment One (eOne), in association with CTV, announced today that production is underway on Season 2 of the original Canadian hit drama Saving Hope.

Gemini-nominated actor Jason Priestley and Gregory Smith (Rookie Blue) are each set to direct an episode in the upcoming second season, joining directors David Wellington (The Eleventh Hour, Would Be Kings, Rookie Blue) Ken Girotti (Bomb Girls), John Fawcett (Orphan Black), and Jeff Woolnough (Jack).
