The new crime drama drew a1.23 million from 11pm ET, making it the #1 Canadian series premiere of 2013 so far.

The show trailed on the Super Bowl in overall numbers for the night.

angermanagement2Charlie Sheen has taken yet another swipe at his former Two and a Half Men showrunner Chuck Lorre, this time regarding The Big Bang Theory.

Sheen has bagged the comedy series – another of Lorre’s creations – calling it “lame” and “stupid”.

“You gotta think about the shows that my show launched. I should have added in a clause that said anything that uses me as a lead-in, cut me in,” he told The Guardian.

“I’m sorry, but Big Bang Theory is a piece of s**t – it’s a stupid show and it’s just lame, about lame people. I like the kids in it, but that show without [Two and a Half Men] as a lead-in is… goodbye. And I’m rooting for those kids, because I know who they’re dealing with. The fact that they’re still sane is crazy. You know? He’s a bad man. And I’ve backed off from him for a while. Continue reading »

During Sunday’s Super Bowl coverage on CTV it was revealed that Michael Buble will be hosting the 2013 Juno Awards.

In a 30-second TV slot announcing the news, the singer appeared in bed between Canadian couple Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne, who were watching an ad for the Junos on TV.

“It’s a huge honour to be the host of a show that has done so much for Canadian talent, including myself,” said Bublé in a statement. “I am going to do my very best to make it a great night!” Continue reading »

A Super Bowl ad for The Office’s Dunder Mifflin brand of paper will go to air during the big game this weekend.

The ad is for Quill.com, an office products firm who produces real Dunder Mifflin supplies.

The company ran a competition looking for ideas for an ad and the “Paper War” concept was the winning entry submitted by a Florida man. Continue reading »


Piers Morgan and Chelsea Handler have carried on like an old married couple on an episode of the latter’s E! talkshow this week.

Before Handler had even sat down, she asked Morgan what he was looking at, to which he replied: “You’ve either had plastic surgery or a makeover because you look really hot today.”

Ben & Jerry’s Greek Yogurt: Liz Lemon, named after Tina Fey’s character in the comedy, will go on sale in a few months’ time in the States.

The special edition is a lemon-flavoured frozen yoghurt with a blueberry swirl.


A new teaser has been revealed for the upcoming Robin Sparkles episode of How I Met You Mother.

A bunch of Canadian talent is set to guest star in the episode that features Robin Scherbatsky’s (Cobie Smulders) Canadian pop-star alter-ego for the fourth time.

Jason Priestley (Call Me Fitz), Alan Thicke (Growing Pains), Paul Shaffer (Late Show) Alex Trebek (Jeopardy), k.d. Lang, Steven Page of Barenaked Ladies, Rush frontman Getty Lee and former hockey player Luc Robitaille all make appearances as themselves while James Van Der Beek will reprise his role as Robin’s ex-boyfriend.
