MTV renews Buckwild, US Senator loses faith in humanity

Buckwild2The controversial MTV reality series Buckwild has been given a second season, presumably to the chagrin of a certain US Senator.

“Shameful behaviour” is how West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin described the antics of the series, which basically follows a group of young people getting up to no good in a small town.

Viewers seemed to love it though and MTV have ordered more episodes as the first season drew to a close this week in the US.

“I cannot imagine that anyone who loves this country would feel proud profiting off of Buckwild,” Senator Manchin wrote to MTV.

“Instead of showcasing the beauty of our people and our state, you preyed on young people, coaxed them into displaying shameful behaviour – and now you are profiting from it. That is just wrong.”
