Doctor Who 50th anniversary rumours

DoctorWho2013The latest rumour doing the rounds regarding the Doctor Who 50th anniversary TV special is that all eleven past Time Lord’s will return to feature.

The Birmingham Mail has caused quite a stir this week by reporting that the eleven actors will return – even the three dead ones thanks to digital trickery – for the celebration this year.

However, the sixth Doctor, Colin Baker, tweeted that he has not been approached for a TV appearance.

“Alas apart from The Big Finish (audio drama) plans I am not aware of any 50th stories nor have I been approached,” Baker tweeted.

Baker, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, Tom Baker and Paul McGann are already on board to record the anniversary audio adventure.

Current Doctor Matt Smith said recently: “We’re as much in the dark as the majority of other people. I haven’t seen the script so I have no idea what is happening. One thing’s for sure, we’ll make it the biggest in the show’s history.”

David Tennant was said to have given a UK radio presenter a “knowing wink” when quizzed if he was going to appear.
