Reports claims young Canadians are ditching TV for web streaming

A new CTAM report says that young Canadians are spending more time watching online video content than television.

The report looked into multi-tasking by 18-39 year-old Canadians and found that internet streaming now exceeds TV watching in that age group.

One of the main factors for this is due to the increasing number of multiple screens – eg iPads and tablets – and the dominance of computers and the internet in the lives of Canadians.

Multi-tasking while watching TV is also more common among 18-39 year-olds, with social networking and internet browsing proving popular.

The report also outlines that fact that those who have cut the cord when it comes to TV have turned to computers for their video content.
