Global News to air exclusive year-end interview with Prime Minister Stephen Harper

As 2012 draws to a close, Global News is pleased to give viewers a chance to reflect on the stories and events of most concern through the eyes of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Led by Global National Anchor & Executive Editor Dawna Friesen, In Conversation with the Prime Minister will tackle the issues, both big and small, that Canadians care most about.

“We’re pleased to be providing Canadians with the opportunity to catch this one-on-one interview between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Anchor Dawna Friesen, who is one of the best in the business,” says Troy Reeb, Senior Vice President, Global News & Station Operations. “With In Conversation with the Prime Minister, Dawna and our Global News team have covered all the important issues while delving into his more personal thoughts on a range of different topics.”
In Conversation with the Prime Minister tackles everything from Mr. Harper’s views on the crisis in Syria, to the state of Canada’s economy and his views on religion. Dawna and the Prime Minister also discuss more controversial issues that have taken root throughout the past year, from the Nexen takeover by Chinese company CNOOC, to healthcare and pension issues facing our rapidly-aging baby-boomer population. A self-professed hockey fan, Mr. Harper also weighs in on the current NHL lockout.
