Dorothy chosen on CBC's Over the Rainbow

Danielle Wade has taken out the role of Dorothy on CBC’s Over the Rainbow.

The 20-year-old from LaSalle, Ontario, was voted the winner over fellow finalists A.J. Bridel and Stephanie La Rochelle.

“I honestly couldn’t believe it when they called my name,” she said. “I never thought this would happen. This is incredible.”

Wade was picked by the audience of the show, who were given the power to vote for their favourite from Sunday night’s performances.

Despite the fact she has had ten years of vocal training, Wade says she was still surprised to win the role.
