Gordon Ramsay returns to Food Network Canada with new series

Shocking revelations, unusual locations, and sweet creations add a second helping of dramatic flavour this fall on Food Network Canada.

With a new series from the world-renowned celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and a brand new show from the producers of the international smash hit Pawn Stars, the schedule pushes the limits with an even stronger lineup including new formats beginning October 17th.

Celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay returns this fall, setting up his kitchen in an intimidating environment in Gordon Behind Bars. The series follows Chef Ramsay as he puts Britain’s prisoners to work in order to pay back the system and help them gain useful career skills by setting up a successful food business. There’s no challenge the no-nonsense chef isn’t up for, even it means going behind bars to get the job done.
With two brand-new, behind-the-scenes series, Food Network shows a shocking side of restaurants that are sure to make jaws drop. From the producers of the internationally-acclaimed breakout hit Pawn Stars, Health Inspectors gets serious about food safety as restaurant consultant Ben Vaughn cleans up restaurants on the verge of being shut down, exposing some of America’s dirtiest establishments along the way.

In Mystery Diners, unsuspecting employees are paid a visit by more than the typical patron. When restaurant owners suspect their employees of foul play, poor customer service or just doing a bad job, they call in these undercover operatives to get to the bottom of it.

The competition heats up with two new seasons of returning favourites. Ron Ben-Israel is back this fall in season three of Sweet Genius, putting America’s premier pastry chefs to the test in search of the most dazzling displays and sinfully sweet desserts. The stakes are higher than ever in The Next Iron Chef: Redemption as an acclaimed group of chefs step into Kitchen Stadium once again for a second chance at becoming the next Iron Chef.

Brand New Series:

Gordon Behind Bars (4×60)
(Canadian Broadcast Premiere)
Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT beginning October 17
Gordon Ramsay thinks it’s time for Britain’s prisoners to pay their way. There are 88,000 prisoners in the UK and it costs taxpayers £38,000 to keep them locked up each year. Gordon has given himself six months to set up a successful food business behind bars. His aim is to get prisoners cooking food on the inside to sell on the outside.

Health Inspectors (7×30)
(Canadian Broadcast Premiere)
Mondays at 9pm ET/6pm PT beginning November 12
From the producers of the massive hit Pawn Stars comes the eye-opening new series Health Inspectors. A visit from a restaurant health inspector can shut down a food business instantly and permanently if they aren’t up to code. Restaurant consultant Ben Vaughn is here to make sure that doesn’t happen. He makes his living cleaning up restaurants that have all sorts of violations, holding them accountable for the messes they’ve made and ensuring they pass inspection, maintain proper kitchen safety and cleanliness, and stay in business.

Mystery Diners (8×30)
(Canadian Broadcast Premiere)
Mondays at 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT beginning November 12
When a restaurant owner grows suspicious of employees — whether it’s due to stealing, lying, mistreating customers or generally doing lousy work — they call in the Mystery Diners. These Mystery Diners are undercover operatives who go into restaurants, bars and food service establishments with hidden cameras to find out what’s really going on when the boss isn’t around.

New Seasons of Returning Favourites:

The Next Iron Chef: Redemption (Canadian Broadcast Premiere)
