CBC wins International Emmy for Haiti earthquake documentary

The CBC documentary focussing on orphans from the Haiti earthquake has won an International Emmy for best current affairs program.

Haiti’s Orphans: One Year After the Earthquake aired on the channel in August 2011 on Doc Zone, following three kids who had lost their parents in the quake.

The award was one of two presented this week by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in New York.

The other was awarded to Japanese broadcaster NHK for Great East Japan Earthquake Emergency News for coverage of the March 2011 earthquake.
