Homeland being missed by many Canadians

It may be the most-talked about new show for some time and the big winner at the Emmy Awards last weekend, but Homeland is still a bit of an unknown to many Canadians.

This is due to the fact it is only screened here on a minor pay TV channel, Super Channel.

The series, which won Emmys in the prize categories of best drama and best actor and actress in a drama series, has struggled to build a strong fanbase in Canada because of its limited availability.

Super Channel holds the exclusive rights to the show and in a way that is a shame due to the channels relatively small subscriber base the channel holds.

Competition from the likes of HBO Canada, Movie Central and The Movie Network has limited Super Channel’s reach and in the process Homeland’s.

The second season of the series hits Super Channel on September 30 with a season one marathon on the 29th.
