Sears Canada, Hilroy and Allan Candy partner with YTV for The Next Star season 5

Corus Entertainment’s kid and family network YTV is teaming up with Sears Canada, Hilroy and The Allan Candy Company Ltd. on product integrations for Season 5 of its top-rated series The Next Star, which premieres on tonight (Monday, July 16) at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Canadian retailer Sears will be integrated in 30-second shopping vignettes featuring the Top 6 finalists and a Sears Trend Director showcasing the latest back-to-school fashion trends.

The final six will make an appearance at the Toronto Eaton Centre Sears store together for a fan appreciation event and will individually visit their hometown Sears store for autograph signings. The ultimate winner of The Next Star will also receive a $5,000 shopping spree at Sears.

In addition, through the online Virtual Next Star competition Sears is offering fans a chance to win a VIP trip to the season finale at Canada’s Wonderland on Sunday, September 23 as well as a $5,000 Sears back-to-school shopping spree. Contest details and Top 6 appearance dates will be posted on YTV.com, Sears.ca and via social media.

The Next Star contestants will draw on Hilroy products for inspiration throughout the season. From creating concepts on the Zwipes® Inspiration Wall to writing lyrics in their notebooks, the talent will be fully equipped to produce original songs.

Allan Candy’s iconic and playful Big Foot brand will be integrated in fun dance segments with the Top 6 and the Big Foot mascot even has a little fun at the judges’ expense. Audiences will also be treated to three exciting new flavours of Big Foot candy during the studio tapings and after the live finale.
