Space acquires new series Sinbad from BBC Worldwide

As announced today from BBC Worldwide Showcase in Liverpool, SPACE has acquired the brand new, high-octane adventure series, SINBAD.

Expected to air this fall on SPACE and SPACE HD, the one-hour fantasy-drama promises a 21st century take on the 8th century iconic hero. Produced by the Emmy® and BAFTA-winning Impossible Pictures (PRIMEVAL), SINBAD reinvigorates the hero’s adventures for a contemporary audience.

”We’re thrilled about this captivating new addition to our upcoming fall schedule – one more terrific series from our partners at BBC Worldwide,” said Catherine MacLeod, Vice-President, Specialty Channels, Bell Media. “Expected to be on par with other sensations like DOCTOR WHO, TORCHWOOD and MERLIN on SPACE, this new series offers more magic to enchant all viewers.”

“SPACE is the perfect home for an epic adventure such as Sinbad,” said Hilary Read, COO, BBC Worldwide Canada. “Their unwavering dedication to innovative, quality sci-fi programming makes for a truly compelling fan experience, as well as a fantastic business partner.”

The deal was completed by Gwen Jones McCauley, Vice President Sales & Co-productions, BBC Worldwide Canada and Rachel Goldstein-Couto, Director, Programming, Comedy & Drama for Bell Media.
