Lights Out premieres on FX Canada on February 20

FX Canada throws a right hook with the Canadian premiere of boxing drama Lights Out, the latest addition to the premier specialty channel’s knock-out lineup.

This 13-episode series is an ambitious character drama that follows aging, former, heavyweight boxing champion, Patrick ‘Lights’ Leary (Holt McCallany, Men of Honor) as he struggles to find his identity and support his family after retiring from the ring. Lights Out will air Mondays at 10pm ET (7pm PT) beginning Monday, Feb. 20 on FX Canada.

In the pilot episode, flashbacks of Lights’ last match reveal his reasoning for throwing in the towel and retiring from boxing prematurely. In the present, five years have passed since that last fight and Lights is struggling with financial problems that will soon affect his family. His challenges lead him to a perilous crossroad – can he battle the urge to return to boxing or should he accept a job as a brutal and intimidating debt collector?

Lights Out also stars Catherine McCormack (Braveheart) as Theresa Leary, Lights’ wife; Pablo Schreiber (The Manchurian Candidate) as Johnny Leary, Lights’ brother; and Stacy Keach (American History X) as Robert ‘Pops’ Leary, Lights’ father. The series was produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions.
