Space and Space HD announce mid-season schedule

SPACE and SPACE HD resolve to take 2012 by storm with a flurry of marathons, mind-blowing finales and thunderous premieres.

Devoted to delivering programming with no limits, SPACE tears up the new year with its mid-season schedule when the flagship, daily entertainment program, INNERSPACE, moves to a new time.

Hosts Ajay Fry, Cynthia Loyst and Teddy Wilson probe what’s new in genre, Monday-Friday, now at 6 p.m. ET, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 3.

To warm up the new timeslot, the show kicks off 2012 with a week of themed specials, starting with INNERSPACE: WINTER BLOCKBUSTERS.

Fans of the fantastical can catch up on Season 3 of MERLIN with the all-day marathon on Saturday, Jan. 7 beginning at 8 a.m. E.T., leading in to the Season 4 premiere at 8 p.m. ET. Viewers can get cozy with the paranormal roommates of BEING HUMAN (US) with the Season 1 marathon Sunday, Jan. 15, in advance of the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere, Monday, Jan. 16 at 10 p.m. ET.

SPACE’s mid-season schedule continues to keep viewers warm with the return of fan favourites. Viewers can sink their teeth into the new Season 3 of TRUE BLOOD (Friday, Jan. 6, at 10 p.m. ET), uncover the unexplained with Season 2B of the investigation series FACT OR FAKED: PARANORMAL FILES (Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9 p.m. ET) or delve into the world of special effects make-up with the Season 2 premiere of competition series FACE OFF (Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. ET). On Thursday, Jan. 5, Season 2 of the Gemini Award-winning SPACE original series TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL returns with all new back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. ET.

TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL – Season 2 continued

Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET

Season 2 returns with “See you Later, Masterbator”, in which Jimmy is fired for peeping on students and Todd vows to clear his name. The gang finds the real culprit is difficult to identify – because he’s invisible! Following at 9:30 p.m. ET, the A/V Club use the Book to turn the Gang’s lives into a psycho thriller – and they’ve cast Jenny as the victim and Todd as the killer in the episode “Loser Generated Content”.  


TRUE BLOOD – Season 3

Friday, Jan. 6 at 10 p.m. ET

In bad “Bad Blood”, Sookie turns to Eric for help finding Bill. Andy urges Jason to stay the course. Sam wants to reconnects with his past so he begins his search for his birth parents. Tara seeks refuge from her grief. Lafayette gives Lettie May one more chance to help Tara. Meanwhile Jason and Andy work to cover up the truth about Eggs death. Sophia-Anne makes a surprise visit to Fangtasia.


MERLIN – Season 4 Premiere

Saturday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. ET

In the Season 4 premiere, “The Darkest Hour (Part 1)”, Morgana, empowered with her magic stronger than ever, summons the mighty Callieach to tear open the veil between the two worlds, effectively opening the gates to the Other World. Hellish creatures pour forth, killing any who succumb to their touch. With Uther a shadow of his former self, it falls to Arthur and his loyal knights, including Lancelot to protect the kingdom. Nothing will prepare Merlin when he discovers that the only way to restore the balance requires a sacrifice of unimaginable proportions.



Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9 p.m. ET

Led by former FBI agent Ben Hansen, the paranormal investigation team returns with “UFO Crash Landing/Graveyard Ghost”. In the season 2B premiere, one team goes to New Mexico to investigate a supposed UFO crash while the other travels to Nevada to look into stories of a graveyard ghost.


FACE OFF – Season 2 Premiere

Wednesday, Jan.11 at 10 p.m. ET

Season 2 of the competition/elimination series explores the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination that allows them to create amazing works of living art. The contestants are tasked with elaborate feature challenges including executing full body paint make up on models and creating their own horror villain. FACE OFF culminates in one winner and one grand prize that will launch a career.


BEING HUMAN (US) – Season 2 Premiere

Monday, Jan. 16 at 10 p.m. ET

In the season premiere episode “Turn This Mother Out”, Aidan deals with the power vacuum and orphan vampires left behind when Bishop died and Josh prepares to re-enter medical school and embrace a normal life with Nora. Sally’s ghost powers grow stronger as she wonders what will happen to her now that she’s missed her door.
