The Regis farewell celebration continues on Live! for Philbin's final day, Nov. 18

As Regis Philbin prepares to depart his long-running talk show next Friday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. ET, CTV announced details for his final week as well as an exclusive ETALK interview that debuts tonight.

The staff of LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY have put together a spectacular send-off, with favourite guests, musical tributes and an hour-long final show commemorating Philbin’s nearly three decades on the popular talk show.

As well, ETALK celebrates the send-off as the only Canadian media outlet with access to the “king of morning shows.” Recently Ben Mulroney sat down with Philbin on set in New York City, as well as co-host Kelly Ripa and executive producer Michael Gelman, to give Canadians the exclusive details behind Regis’ final shows.

Part One of the interview airs tonight on ETALK at 7 p.m. ET on CTV and 6 p.m. ET on E! (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

Also just announced, Ripa has signed on for another five years with LIVE! as the morning show begins a new era. LIVE! WITH KELLY will feature guest co-hosts including Jerry Seinfeld (Nov. 21 – 23) until a new co-host is announced.

During his final week, beginning Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. ET on CTV, some of Philbin’s favourite guests and friends are stopping by to share their personal recollections of their visits to the show and to wish him well. Guests include Jimmy Fallon (Nov. 14), Don Rickles (Nov. 14), Donald Trump (Nov. 15), David Letterman (Nov. 16) and former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford (Nov. 17). In addition, every day there will be a special musical tribute featuring singers such as Tony Bennett, Bret Michaels and Josh Groban, and several unexpected musical performances.

On Nov. 18, Philbin’s final LIVE! will be a not-to-be-missed hour-long tribute, a moving show jam-packed with surprises for Philbin and the audience. In addition, Philbin will reflect on his tenure with the popular morning program, and share his thoughts as he moves on to new show business adventures.
