Regis Philbin delivers goodbye message to Canadians

Regis Philbin has delivered a special thank you video message to his fans across Canada, just two days before his final episode on LIVE! (Friday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. ET on CTV).

Leading up to his departure, Canadians continue to show their love by tuning in to Regis’ final moments on the daytime talk series. Kicking off Regis’ final week on Monday, Nov. 14, LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY garnered a season-high audience of 566,000 viewers on CTV.

As one of the longest-running morning show hosts on television and with the Guinness Book of World Records achievement for the most time spent in front of a camera, CTV highlights some of Regis’ top “Canadian” moments:

– As a non-seafood lover, Regis was forced to eat clams and oysters in 2010 while Regis and Kelly were in PEI.

– Regis enjoyed Niagara Falls, Ontario so much that not only did the show tape there on location in 1996, but they went back 10 years later in 2006.

– With a musical background, Regis performed You Made Me Love You, a duet with the Mayor of Mississauga, Ontario Hazel McCallion, while at Casino Rama. Hazel was then flown to NYC to appear on the show and recount their experience.

– Kelly always bugs Regis about his “bro-mances” – and there was one Canadian in particular that Regis always shared a special bond with… Michael Bublé
