Global announces season two of Canada Sings

In a show of chutzpah, bravado and a healthy shot of adrenalin, Global’s Canada Sings proved this past summer that colleagues that work together can dance and sing together too.

So with a tip of the hat to last year’s competitors, Global has cast its eyes once again across the country in search of co-workers willing to sing their hearts out and dance their feet off, all in the name of charity.

“Canada Sings truly struck a chord with Canadians coast-to-coast. Not only did we generate a huge amount of interest from groups wanting to compete in this Canadian-first program, but we also created a vocal fan base that tuned in every week to see who would win the night,” said Barb Williams, SVP, Content, Shaw Media. “We’re ready and excited to make more magic the second time around and we look forward to seeing a new crop of glee clubs from all over Canada.”

Returning to Global this summer, Canada Sings is a one-hour original series that will challenge Canadians to form glee clubs with their co-workers and compete in a head-to-head battle against another workplace glee team for their charity of choice.

“We’re thrilled to be producing a second season of Insight’s original format Canada Sings with Global,” said John Brunton, President, Insight Production Company Ltd. “With such an overwhelming response to the heartfelt and inspiring performances in the first season, we’re looking forward to sharing even more great stories with Canada again.”
