THE BIG BANG THEORY just keeps on getting bigger. Final data from BBM Canada confirms that Canada’s most-watched TV series is now averaging an incredible 4.01 million viewers each week on CTV, the biggest average audience on record for a television program in Canada.*

THE BIG BANG THEORY has actually experienced explosive audience growth of 25% this season, compared to last. Currently, the series delivers almost 1.3 million viewers more than the average audience of the next most-watched program in Canada, CTV’s CSI (2.72 million).

“The success of these comedies speaks to the strength of our hit schedule,” said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports. “The ‘CTV Effect’ can make solid comedies even stronger in Canada.”

The growth of THE BIG BANG THEORY is in step with the success of the two other Chuck Lorre comedies on CTV networks. CTV Two’s most-watched series TWO AND A HALF MEN is up 74% over last season with an average audience of 2.2 million viewers this fall, and landing in the Top 10 list of the most-watched programs in Canada for A25-54, A18-49 and A18-34. It’s timeslot companion and fellow Lorre laugher MIKE & MOLLY has jumped 65% on CTV Two on the shoulders of the break-out success of “new queen of comedy” and Emmy Award winner Melissa McCarthy. In its second season, MIKE & MOLLY is now averaging 1.3 million viewers, delivering more viewers than any comedy series on Global, Citytv or CBC, and ranking #3 on the list of most-watched programs on CTV Two.

The three series join Canada’s #1 new comedy, WHITNEY on CTV, to become the four most-watched comedy series on Canadian television for total viewers, A25-54 and A18-49.
