An Idiot Abroad 2: The Bucket List premieres on Discovery Channel, Nov 18

Fooled and flustered for a second time, reluctant traveller Karl Pilkington returns in Season 2 of AN IDIOT ABROAD 2: THE BUCKET LIST, premiering Friday, November 18 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT on Discovery Channel.

An eight-part  follow-up to the smash-hit series that followed Pilkington – dragged kicking and screaming – on a quest to see the Seven Wonders of the World, his “friends” Ricky Gervais (THE OFFICE) and Stephen Merchant mastermind a new set of immersive challenges, urging Pilkington to check off experiences on the “things you need to do before you die” Bucket List.

Not that he thinks any of this is a good idea…

At first, Pilkington grudgingly goes along with it – the sad sack is somehow deluded into thinking he’s got some measure of control and input this time around. But he’s dead wrong. See, it’s not his Bucket List they’re working on…

Highlights from AN IDIOT ABROAD 2: THE BUCKET LIST include:

AN IDIOT ABROAD 2:  “Desert Island”

Fri., Nov. 18 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT

Pilkington’s adventure begins on a South Pacific desert island (Vanuatu); detours to New Zealand for a terrifying – and supposedly life-affirming – bungee jump; then flies over volcanoes; and stays with a tribe that, curiously, worships Prince Phillip.

AN IDIOT ABROAD 2:  “Transiberian Express”

Fri., Nov. 25 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT

Pilkington takes the Trans-Siberian Express, which starts in Russia, goes through Mongolia and ends in China. After his Great Wall experience last season, he isn’t exactly overjoyed to be back here… once was enough for his lifetime, thanks very much.

AN IDIOT ABROAD 2:  “Swimming With Dolphins”

Fri., Dec. 2 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT

The dolphin swim ranks high on lots of Bucket Lists – so Pilkington heads Down Under to do just that. But first, a10-day stopover in Thailand where he meets transgendered performers and enters a blindfolded Thai boxing match.

The BUCKET LIST adventures continue – to viewers’ delight and Pilkington’s disappointment – with Alaskan husky sledding, whale watching and sub-zero swimming in “Whale Watching” (Dec. 9); a South African face off in Uganda with primates in “Face to Face with Gorillas” (Dec. 16); hitting the road and delving into New Age therapies in “Route 66” (Dec 23); going to great heights in Japan in “Climb Mount Fuji” (TBA); and – finally – heading home to give Gervais and Merchant a piece of his mind in “Karl Comes Home” (TBA).
