Legendary journalists Tom Clarke and Patrick Brown join Global News

Global News announced today that it has hired two of Canada’s most well-respected news figures to add significant strength to its award winning team of news professionals.

Easily one of Canada’s most recognizable and respected political journalists, Tom Clark has made the move to Global News to host its new political program, The West Block. More than just the average political show that reports on the headlines from our nation’s capital, The West Block will facilitate commentary and act as an intermediary in the two-way conversation between viewers and the government.

Patrick Brown, a legendary foreign correspondent who just received the highest honours from the Canadian Journalism Foundation, will be the Global News China correspondent, based in Beijing.

“These are two giants of journalism,” says Troy Reeb, Vice President, Global News. “The wealth of experience and expertise they bring to the table is simply astounding. They will both play an important role in further solidifying Global News as the news leader in Canada.”

More details of their roles within Global News will be released over the coming weeks and months.
