Global News dedicated to thorough coverage of Ontario Provincial Election

With an election that has the parties fighting tooth and nail to the finish, Global News is going above and beyond the competition to provide Ontarians with the most thorough and accessible coverage of the October 6th Ontario Provincial Election.

Anchored by Leslie Roberts and Anne Mroczkowski, Decision Ontario will begin at 9pm ET to provide viewers with live detailed reports from every riding in the province until a winner is declared.

Results and analysis of the returns will be provided by Queen’s Park Bureau Chief, Alan Carter and a team of experienced political reporters including Chief Political Correspondent, Tom Clark, who will be at the McGuinty headquarters in Ottawa.

“We’re serious about our responsibility to give the public what they expect in election coverage,” said Troy Reeb, Vice President News for Shaw Media. “That’s why we are providing Ontario’s most comprehensive coverage – from the time the polls close at 9 pm ET until we have all the results from every riding. Our commitment to full and proper election coverage on behalf of our viewers is what sets Global News apart from the other broadcast networks.”

Decision Ontario will not only present viewers with up-to-the-minute real-time results. It will have exclusive analysis of the issues that motivated people to cast their ballots, revealing when they made their decisions and what they expect from the future Premier and the new provincial government. The broadcast will also include a panel of high-profile political insiders who have experienced campaigns first hand, and who can provide viewers with a “behind the scenes” perspective.

In addition, no matter where Ontarians might be on election night, they can stay up to date through various Global online platforms. GlobalToronto.com will provide live streaming coverage along with a detailed ridings database and Global News reporters will live-blog from the leaders’ headquarters and in ridings where the races are too close to call. Global Toronto will also be providing Ontarians with up-to-the-minute information and analysis through Global Toronto on Facebook and Twitter at @GlobalNewsTO.
