Monday, August 1 – Pre-Taped

·         CANADA AM AFLOAT: On holiday Monday CANADA AM sails around the Toronto Island and reviews their favourite morning segments including: The Cat Whisperer, Canadian country singer Aaron Pritchett’s performance, Anne Murray’s tour of Springhill, Nova Scotia and more.

·         GRILLING MONDAY: CANADA AM mixes fire and water as grilling experts Jennifer MacKenzie demonstrates how to make the perfect flank steak, Chris Mills grills up the perfect burger, Steve Adams shows his award winning French Tandoori winglets and Naz Cavallaro delivers amazing seafood BBQ offerings.

·         STEVE CARELL: Film critic Richard Crouse, interviews Carell about his role in the hit romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love; Carrell’s character tries to get his game back while his marriage is unraveling.

 

Tuesday, August 2

·         GREAT INVENTIONS:  During the month of August, CANADA AM looks at great Canadian inventions. The series kicks off with a look at great ideas from the telephone to the zipper, everyday items that we couldn’t live without.  

·         THE HELP: She’s got acting in her blood: Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of Ron Howard, plays Hilly Holbrook, an upper crust wife in 1962 Jackson, Mississippi in the new movie The Help.

·         SMARTGIRLS: Olympian Jenn Heil introduces Canadians to the winners of the smartgirls challenge. Christy Smith (Victoria, B.C), Caroline Smeenk (Oakville, ON) and Kama Money (Port Alberni, BC) have all made a difference in the lives of girls and women in their communities and abroad. Today they talk about their upcoming trip to Rwanda with Plan Canada’s Because I am a Girl initiative.

·         TENILLE: She’s a nominee for 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards Female Artist of the Year for her debut album Real and this morning this country songstress from Grand Prairie performs on the CANADA AM Soundstage.

 

Wednesday, August 3

·         JoSH: Originally from Montréal, JoSH members Rupinder Magon and Qurram Hussain have been able to transcend religious and cultural barriers with their Indian/Pakistani fusion band. Today they perform on the CANADA AM Soundstage with a performance of S.I.N.G which stands for “Songs Inspired By the Need to Give”.

·         BEN MEZRICH: He’s the bestselling author of Sex On The Moon, an incredible true story of how a bright young NASA recruit and two female accomplices stole the rarest substance on the planet. Today, he’ll talk about writing the book on what he calls “the most audacious heist in history”.

·         SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA: Two more dancers go home Tuesday night, leaving 14 finalists chasing the title of Canada’s favourite dancer (Season 4). The two eliminated dancers chat with CANADA AM this morning about their experience on the show and what they’re going to do next.   

 

Thursday, August 4

·         TRANSPORTABLE DÉCOR: Karl Lohnes takes a look at décor products that are portable and stylish.

·         54-40: Now celebrating 30 years together, this Canadian rock band is touring Canada with its 13th album Lost in the City. This morning they rock the CANADA AM Soundstage.

Friday, August 5

·         JASON BATEMAN & RYAN REYNOLDS: From the directors of Wedding Crashers, Bateman and Reynolds play best friends living very different lives in The Change Up until one wish allows them to swap bodies and lives. CANADA AM talks to Bateman and Reynolds about the laugh out loud comedy.

·         JESSI CRUICKSHANK:  ETALK’s special correspondent in LA is back in Toronto to help launch the eco-friendly, sweatshop free shirt she designed for Me to We Style; “The Africa Shirt” is inspired by her volunteer trip to Africa.

·         MOVIE REVIEWS: Film Friday continues with film critic, Richard Crouse reviewing The Change-Up, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
