CMT announces fall schedule

This fall, Corus Entertainment’s CMT (Canada) celebrates the heart and humour of shared stories and experiences with new and returning series that inspire and entertain.

 

CMT PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS:

 

PAUL BRANDT’S BUILD IT FORWARD (7 x 60) – Saturdays at 10 p.m.

NEW SERIES premieres September 17

Hosted by country music star Paul Brandt (@paulbrandt), BUILD IT FORWARD chronicles the emotional journey of seven separate families at risk of homelessness who will be receiving a new home. While the recipient family works first hand and receives the goodwill and grace of donations and volunteers in the creation of their new home, they are also required to “build it forward” by volunteering in their own community as well as travelling abroad to help build for others in need.

 

2011 CANADIAN COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

Monday, September 12 at 10 p.m. ET

Bringing the best of country music to Canadian fans, the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards will include performances from some of the most celebrated performers in the industry including George Canyon, Terri Clark, Doc Walker, Emmerson Drive, Johnny Reid, Ronnie Dunn, Dean Brody and Paul Brandt.

 

COMING HOME (13 x 60) – Saturdays at 8 p.m.

NEW SERIES premieres September 17

No image captures the feeling of relief, gratitude and pure joy better than that of a soldier home from war, clutching the small child whom he left behind as an infant. Coming Home documents the unforgettable surprise reunions of soldiers with their parents, children and other loved ones.

 

JAG (Seasons 1-3 / 85 x 60) – Sundays at 8 p.m.

NETWORK PREMIERE on September 11

JAG (the military acronym for Judge Advocate General) is an Emmy ® award-winning adventure drama about an elite legal wing of officers trained as lawyers who investigate, prosecute and defend those accused of crimes in the military, including murder, treason and terrorism.

 

PICK A PUPPY (16 x 30) – Mondays at 6 p.m.

NEW SEASON premieres September 19

Pick a Puppy, hosted by country music singer-songwriter Beverly Mahood, returns for a second season. In each episode, a family visits various breeders, owners and animal rescue groups to learn about different breeds of dogs in an attempt to find the perfect fit. As family members grapple with these heart-tugging choices, they soon discover as much about themselves as the breeds they are researching. From the producers of A Baby Story, this half-hour reality series celebrates the day families welcome home a new member of the family.

 

ER VETS (14 x 30) – Fridays at 7 p.m.

NEW SEASON premieres September 23

ER Vets returns for a second season on CMT. ER Vets examines the interpersonal stories of veterinary professionals who cope with life and death situations on a daily basis, and yet somehow manage to embrace the deeply emotional responses of distraught pet owners. Narrated by award-winning singer/songwriter Jann Arden, ER Vets is a compelling mix of medical procedural footage and relational drama leading viewers through a passionate journey marked by tribulation and most often, overwhelming joy.

 

PET HEROES (12 x 30) – Fridays at 7:30 p.m.

NEW SEASON premieres September 30

Pet Heroes returns for another season with more stories of brave and loyal animals putting their own lives in danger to save those of their human friends. Moving, inspirational and true-life, Pet Heroes is the feel-good series animal lovers everywhere can relate to.

 

CHEVROLET COUNTDOWN – Saturdays at 10 a.m.

NEW FORMAT premieres in October

Music. News. Opinion. The Chevrolet Top 20 Countdown is a weekly 2 hour window into the greatest news and music. Hosted by Paul McGuire, the new countdown showcases the most popular videos in the country and features celebrity appearances and behind the scenes features on your favourite artists.
