Presently, the second season of Blackstone is being shot in Edmonton and rural Alberta, with production underway until mid-September. Following the first season’s cliffhanger finale, the series picks up after the strip club shooting, and continues to delve into the tumultuous lives of the residents on the fictional Blackstone First Nation.

Returning to the screen in Season 2 is the unforgettable ensemble cast consisting of Carmen Moore, Eric Schweig, Michelle Thrush, Nathaniel Arcand, Roseanne Supernault, Steven Cree Molison, Andrea Menard, Justin Rain and Ashley Callingbull. The new season also includes the addition of acclaimed First Nation’s actors Gary Farmer, Tantoo Cardinal and Georgina Lightening, as well as Cameron Bancroft, Frank Cassini, Vincent Gale and Lori Triolo.

“We have tremendous talent in Blackstone who bring to life the universal themes and conflicts that so many can relate to,” says Ron E. Scott, who is executive producer, writer and director of Blackstone. “The first season earned a very loyal audience and garnered significant media acclaim, and we expect the second season to be even more riveting and uncompromising.”

In addition to garnering attention in Canada, Blackstone has begun to gain an international audience. The first season was recently picked up by New Zealand broadcaster Maori Television, and initial response from viewers has been extremely positive.
