OLN original series Python Hunters slithers onto screens July 2

Get ready to scour the Florida Everglades with an elite squad of hunters as they fight back against a deadly invasion of Burmese pythons.

Join them on an action-packed adventure every episode where the pythons become the prey when the OLN original series Python Hunters premieres Saturday, July 2 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. This series is part of OLN’s ongoing support of Canadian productions.

Python Hunters follows Greg Graziani, Michael Cole and Shawn Heflick on a high-stakes, adrenaline-pumping conservation quest across one of the most beautiful and deadly environments on the planet. Their mission? To control an overwhelming population of bloodthirsty pythons – the fate of an entire eco-system depends on it.

In the premiere episode, the Python Hunters tackle the debate over exactly how these pythons came to be established in the Everglades. In spite of the popular perception that the snakes are family pets released by irresponsible owners, the Python Hunters consider a more likely explanation: an incident in 1992, when a greenhouse at the edge of the Everglades, housing over 900 Burmese pythons, was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew.

Python Hunters is an OLN original production, shot in the Florida Everglades and produced by Cineflix. Executive Producers for Season 1 are Simon Lloyd and Mark Poertner. Executive Producers for Seasons 2 and 3 are Simon Lloyd and Rod Parker. Hayden Mindell is General Manager, Specialty Channels and Director, Programming, Rogers Media Television.

OLN’s ongoing support of Canadian independent productions has been a major contributor to the success of series such as Mantracker, Survivorman, Departures, Beyond Survival, World Travels, Ed’s Up, Angry Planet and Which Way To.
