Survivor: Redemption Island finale draws 2.9 million for Global

With over 2.9 million viewers (Ind.2+, national), it was abundantly clear that Canadians found the series finale of Survivor: Redemption Island on Global irresistible.

The brilliant combination of master player Boston Rob and the Redemption Island plot twist kept Canadians glued to their TVs.  

This one-two punch helped Sunday night’s finale increase last season’s finale audience by 30%, and surpass last fall’s entire season audience by 13% (Ind.2+, national) reinforcing Survivor’s position as a perennial top 10 performer among viewers.



· Survivor:Redemption Island easily won its time slot in all three markets, beating the closest competition by 38% in Toronto, 317% in Calgary and 41% in Vancouver (18-49)

· A total of 5.5 million Canadians watched the finale at some point Sunday night, and the audience for the finale of Survivor: Redemption Island peaked at 9:02pm with 3.5 million viewers. (Ind.2+)

· 2.5 million Canadians stayed tuned to watch the one-hour live reunion show immediately following the 2-hour finale (Ind.2+)
