Global News launches Focus: Decision Canada

Global News announced today that it will be launching a national 30-minute program devoted to covering the twists and turns of the 2011 Federal Election.  Based out of Ottawa, and hosted by Global National’s Carolyn Jarvis, Focus: Decision Canada will air Saturday nights at 7:30pm ET from April 2 through April 30 (see below for additional times).  The singularly focused program will present viewers with a comprehensive exploration of every facet of this year’s election including:

  • Interviews with party leaders
  • The latest events and announcements from the campaign
  • In depth analysis of party strategies—what’s working and what’s not
  • Up to the minute polling information and seat projections
  • Anecdotes from the campaign trail and reports from ridings across the country

In addition to critical reviews by well respected political commentators, Focus: Decision Canada will invite party strategists to discuss the performance of their own leaders and will examine Canadians’ reactions to the many promises being made during the campaign.

“We feel this show will play an important role in the upcoming election,” said Troy Reeb, Vice President News for Shaw Media.  “Focus: Decision Canada will walk voters through the maze of rhetoric and hyperbole to provide a clear picture of what happened during the previous week and what to expect during the week ahead.  It will be, for all intents and purposes, Canada’s leading voice for the electorate.”
