It’s feeding time again! PRIMEVAL returns this month for another fast-paced season of action, adventure, monsters and hair-raising special effects. Airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE, the hit British sci-fi drama premieres Jan. 18. Following the television broadcast, episodes are available on demand at SPACECAST.com.

PRIMEVAL follows the Anomaly Research Center (ARC) team as they battle dinosaurs in present day Britain. The dinosaurs appeared when rips in time started opening across the UK, endangering lives and putting the whole of humanity at risk. To deal with these ““creature incursions,” a crack team of specialists were appointed by the government, creating the ARC.

The new season picks up approximately one year after the Season 3 finale which left ARC team members Abby (Hannah Spearmitt) and Connor (Andrew-Lee Potts) trapped in another time. In the Season 4 premiere, Abby and Connor have finally escaped from the Cretaceous period, only to be followed by a giant Spinosaurus, the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. A new ARC team springs into action, leaving Abby and Connor’s place within the team in jeopardy while their former leader Danny is still missing.

Season 4 of PRIMEVAL also stars Ben Miller (THE ARMSTRONG AND MILLER SHOW), Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class, Snatch) and Ben Mansfield (MERLIN), and introduces new cast members Ciarán McMenamin (Jericho, Demons), Ruth Kearney (Gracie!, Booky’s Crush) and Alexander Siddig (Clash of the Titans, 24, Syriana, STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE).

Global’s Entertainment Tonight and Entertainment Tonight Canada are kicking off 2011 in style with exclusive access to red carpets, behind-the-scenes action and awards season ‘can’t miss’ moments.

“As the world’s most trusted entertainment brand, ET and ET Canada will be at the top of every red carpet of the most coveted events this awards season,” said Barbara Williams, SVP, Content, Shaw Media. “From the People’s Choice Awards to the GRAMMYS® and the Oscars® , the buzz is building and our production teams are prepping to give viewers the most in-depth coverage possible.”

On location in Hollywood, ET and ET Canada’s #1 awards season reporting will include week-long lead up stories, in-person interviews and of course, next day wrap-up coverage. It all begins this Thursday with a behind-the-scenes look at the 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards broadcast tomorrow evening, Wednesday, January 5 – 9pm ET/PT on Global. Now in its 37th year, the People’s Choice Awards celebrate fan favourites in music, movies and television. Queen Latifah returns as Host and a slew of celebrities will be in attendance including Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber, Robert Downey Jr., Steve Carell, Carrie Underwood and more.

Next, Cheryl Hickey and Rick Campanelli will be onsite in Beverly Hills for the 67th Annual Golden Globes on Sunday, January 16. Known for its breezy, laidback style, the Globes red carpet is consistently filled with the industry’s biggest movers and shakers ‘dressed to the nines’ for the season’s most exciting dinner party. With a whopping five Globe nominations, the always colourful cast of Glee is expected to walk the red carpet in addition to big name celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Colin Firth and The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg.

Then it’s the prestigious 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday, January 30 – 8pm ET/PT. A top industry accolade, SAG Award nominees are selected by fellow actors and award recipients. ET and ET Canada will have A-Z coverage of the night and one-on-one interviews with the A-list attendees including actors from such nominated films as Black Swan, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, The King’s Speech and The Social Network.

Barely catching their breath, the ET and ET Canada team is in the centre of the action again for the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards airing live on Global Sunday, February 13 – 8pm ET/PT. The GRAMMYs honour the best in music so it’s no surprise that Canadians Drake, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Michael Bublé and Justin Bieber lead the pack with the most award nominations. ET Canada will be the only Canadian entertainment show granted access to the GRAMMY red carpet and Co-Hosts Cheryl and Rick will report live for a pre-show special entitled – The GRAMMY Awards: ET Canada Live starting at 7pm ET/PT.

A proven hit with audiences, Season 1 of TEEN MOM was split into two parts, the first premiering in December 2009 and the second in July 2010. Audiences were drawn in by moms Maci, Farrah, Catelynn, and Amber and their stories of struggle and triumph. Both the first and second part of the season won its Tuesday 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot across all Canadian and US non-sports specialty for P12-34. Since its premiere in 2009, TEEN MOM has seen impressive audience growth in the major demos, including 53% (P2+), 44% (P12-34), and 29% (F18-34).

Chelsea struggles to patch up a rocky relationship with the father of her daughter, Aubree. Kailyn, who tried to cover up her pregnancy on 16 AND PREGNANT, faces financial trouble juggling two jobs and supporting her son after being abandoned by her own mother.

For Canada’s animal shelters, this is not “the most wonderful time of the year”.   They know Santa will stuff a cute and cuddly kitten into thousands of Christmas stockings. But, by New Year’s Day, that little ball of fur is one giant nuisance. And so it will be dropped off at the shelter, or worse, dumped on the side of a rural road and left to fend for itself.

Why do millions of cats live, quite literally, in the lap of luxury, while tens of millions more are abandoned to lead short, miserable lives?

CAT CRAZED, premiering on CBC Doc Zone Thursday, January 6 at 9:00 pm (9:30 pm NT) is a light-hearted search for sanity in a cat-obsessed world, looking beyond the myths and absurd human behavior that’s at the root of the world’s cat overpopulation crisis to reach a new and more realistic relationship with felines.

The film marries animation created by Oscar nominee Cordell Barker (The Cat Came Back) with classic documentary storytelling to deftly straddle the line between send-up and serious journalism. “Viewers are bombarded with dire stories of environmental disasters, so much so, sometimes they tune out. We believe this approach will entertain – and hit home,” says CAT CRAZED director Maureen Palmer.

“Anyone who has seen my first film, The Cat Came Back, may find it hard to believe I’m a cat lover. But I am,” says Oscar nominated animator Cordell Barker from his Winnipeg studio. “Ever since I made that film more than 20 years ago, I’ve seen the problem of abandoned cats grow exponentially. But we humans tend not to change our behavior when hammered over the head with a message. I think social satire and humour can accomplish so much more. That’s what I think CAT CRAZED best delivers.”

The cat is the world’s most popular pet – and its most disposable. Some 100 million cats, domestic and wild, roam the North American landscape, wreaking havoc on native flora and fauna – and forcing well-meaning humans to take sides in a cat-bird war. It’s become clear that we don’t have a cat problem, we have a human problem. The species at the top of the food chain needs to get a grip on practical, humane solutions that can save the lives of both cats and birds.

CAT CRAZED crisscrosses North America, introducing viewers to a fascinating cast of eclectic and eccentric cat-obsessed characters, visiting the giant Meet the Breeds Cats and Dogs Show in New York, where cat owners indulge in all manner of feline fascination, to Washington, where Alley Cat Allies – the world’s most powerful cat ladies – reveal their plans for world cat domination, to Los Angeles, where Fix Nation plans mass cat sterilization, and finally to Texas, where they shoot cats, don’t they?

In Canada, we visit the world’s largest no-kill shelter in Richmond, BC, home to 1000 cats, learn what happens to a small town mayor when social media savvy cat activists spread the word on his plans to euthanize the town’s feral cats, and meet the wild cats on Ottawa’s Parliament Hill. We witness groundbreaking research as even well-fed and neutered cats, caught on camera, commit bird carnage. And, finally, in Calgary, we discover a ridiculously simple, yet radical, made-in-Canada solution that has taken the animal rescue world by storm: license cats the way we do dogs.

CAT CRAZED celebrates our love affair with felines and encourages a new relationship where all cats are loved and none are abandoned.

Following the CBC TV Main Network premiere on Thursday, January 6 at 9 pm, CAT CRAZED will get two additional showings on sister network CBC News Network, Friday, January 7 at 10 pm ET/PT, and on Sunday, January 9 at 5 pm ET/PT.

The film was screened in Fall 2010 at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
