Off The Map leads to ratings win for Shaw Media on Wednesday night

Last night, Shaw Media experienced significant ratings wins on both conventional and specialty networks with the series premiere of Off the Map on Global and the record-setting series premiere of IRT: DEADLIEST ROADS on History Television.


The diagnosis for Global’s new Wednesday night medical drama, Off the Map is very good. Garnering more than 1.4 million viewers (Ind 2+, national), the series debut had strong initial sampling and won its timeslot nationally and in the key Toronto and Vancouver markets.

563,000 viewers nationally in key A18-49 demo

· Off the Map garnered 49% more viewers nationally than its closest timeslot competitor, The Defenders (CTV)

· In the key markets, it outperformed The Defenders by 169% in Toronto and 102% in Vancouver

Hot off its best Fall season of all time, History Television continues its ratings success with the premiere of IRT: DEADLIEST ROADS – the spin-off of hit series Ice Road Truckers – which has become the highest-rated single episode in channel history. The anticipated spin-off garnered nearly 1 million viewers on January 12 at 9pm ET/PT.



The season premiere placed History Television in the #1 Specialty position for the day

This episode of IRT: DEADLIEST ROADS exceeded the network’s previous high-water mark for a single-viewing for Pawn Stars at 804,100 (2+) and 499,500 (A25-54) on October 12, 2010
