Montreal production house celebrates Pillars Golden Globe nod

A production house in Montreal has reason to celebrate following the news that Pillars of the Earth had received a Golden Globe nomination.

Muse Entertainment Enterprises worked on the epic miniseries which is up for the Best Miniseries award at the annual ceremony in Los Angeles.

The company’s head, Michael Prupas, says the team is thrilled with the nod.

“We were sort of anticipating that we had a very good chance at it because ‘Pillars’ has been a very high-profile series around the world in the last few months,” Prupas said.

“So, it’s not a total surprise. I would have, to be frank, been slightly surprised had we not gotten a nomination but it’s great to have that validated, I don’t want to sound immodest. I think that it’s a great tribute to all the amazing talent who contributed long and hard to make the series such a great series.”

Pillars aired in Canada on The Movie Network and Movie Central over the summer alongside its run in the US on Starz.

Canadians Donald Sutherland, Gordon Pinsent and Alison Pill all featured on the series which was based on Ken Follett’s bestselling novel about the construction of an English cathedral in the 12th Century.
