Glee's Jane Lynch lands guest role on The Simpsons

Glee’s Jane Lynch has scored herself a guest spot on The Simpsons to go along with her recent Golden Globe nomination.

Lynch, who plays the scheming Sue Sylvester on the musical series, has been confirmed to appear on The Simpsons playing Homer’s new assistant at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

The actress will voice the character called Roz, who Simpsons’ executive producer Al Jean describes as:  “terrifically nice, but then it turns out she’s just completely undermining him every step of the way and gets his job — until he can discover her one weakness with the help of Ned Flanders.”

Jean says the decision to cast the Emmy-winning actress was an easy choice.

“She can do edge, sweetness, and a mix of both,” he says of the actress, who recorded her lines last week. “I’m just embarrassed we didn’t ask her before she was so successful because she’s funny in everything she does. We were very happy when she said yes.”
