CTV Toronto weather specialist Anwar Knight returns to the air, Thursday, Oct. 21

A perfect day is in the forecast as CTV NEWS AT NOON announces the return of Weather Specialist Anwar Knight. The popular announcer will ease back into his on-air schedule tomorrow morning (Oct. 21st), anchoring the local news updates during CANADA AM, and then later delivering his full weather report on CTV NEWS AT NOON.

Anwar was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in May 2010, and kept viewers abreast of his treatment through his blog, Anwar’s Journey: The hodgepodge of an optimist.

“Getting back to my normal routine has been my goal from day one, and it’s an absolutely wonderful blessing. I am excited to rejoin my TV Family, at CTV News Toronto,” said Knight. “My sincere thanks to so many who have been with me on this incredible journey – especially the viewers and readers who have shared their own stories and offered inspiring messages of hope every step of the way.”

Anwar Knight joined the CTV News Toronto team as the Weekend Weather Reporter in 2007 and in 2009 he moved to reporting the weather weekdays on CTV Toronto’s NEWS AT NOON.

Born and raised in Toronto, Anwar graduated from the Broadcast Journalism Program at Humber College. Prior to coming to CTV Toronto, Anwar could be seen on The New VR, The Weather Network, and Global Television as a weather anchor and general assignment reporter. Anwar donates his spare time to The Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, Breakfast for Learning and The Lymphoma Foundation of Canada.
