Reality Obsessed begins third season shooting

Reality Obsessed, Peace Point Entertainment Group’s unique series about reality TV begins shooting today in Los Angeles for a fall wrap, for its third season commission on Canada’s TVtropolis.

13 30-minute episodes will debut in 2011.

The series recently won a Gemini Award for its director Daniel Oron, who has been with the production company for many years, as well it won a Gold Remi Award at the 42nd Annual World Fest in Houston.

Considered the world’s foremost reality-TV expert, 29-year-old Toronto native Murtz Jaffer began his career with his own website debunking the myths around the major reality-TV programs. He became friends with many of the biggest reality stars and began to gain attention in mainstream media such as The New York Times and the Toronto Star.

This is Peace Point’s second commission by TVtropolis following FANatical, a 26-part documentary series on the most passionate of TV fans that debuted in 2007.

About host Murtz Jaffer

Murtz’s love affair with reality-TV began at the age of 20 in the basement of his parent’s house. He chased down autographs, photos and interviews from his favourite reality-TV stars. His personal rolodex of celebrity friends includes the beloved Rob and Amber, infamous Survivor star Jonny Fairplay, MTV Gauntlet’s Katie Doyle and Big Brother’s Kaysar Ridha as well as Donald Trump Jr. He’s also met heavy hitters like Martha Stewart and Donald Trump. In 2001, Jaffer launched Survivor-Central, an online resource about the popular reality television series. Featuring several writers from the show itself, Jaffer’s popular site evolved to become, in 2004, the entertainment website InsidePulse.com, currently featuring a staff of more than 200 writers. Jaffer’s passion for reality-TV has made him a veritable celebrity in his own right, with frequent media appearances, including Entertainment Tonight Canada, Toronto Sun and The New York Times.
