Glee creator Ryan Murphy has said a Christian character is set to join the cast of the hit show.

Murphy announced recently he is introducing a female character with strong Christian beliefs to the mix of popular kids, nerds and outcasts.

“I’m adding a Christian character,” he said. “We’ve taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year, so what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognise and say, ‘Oh, look—I’m represented there, too!’ If we’re trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we’ve got to include that point of view as well.”

Apparently the new character will not be afraid to speak her mind, and in doing so will not be liked by all, including homosexual character Kurt (Chris Colfer) whom she will struggle to accept. She will also object to some of the more sexually suggestive music and dance choices of the Glee club.

As Rufus Wainwright’s first opera Prima Donna makes its North American debut at the Luminato festival in Toronto this year, Bravo! gives TV viewers a chance to see how it all began when the captivating documentary RUFUS WAINWRIGHT: PRIMA DONNA makes its Canadian television premiere Monday, June 14 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on Bravo!.

The film showcases the making of and inspiration behind Wainwright’s grand opera. The JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter’s obsession with opera is explored through candid interviews with his friends and family, as well as never-before-seen home videos of Rufus’ childhood. To view the documentary trailer click here.

Affectionately referred to as “the greatest songwriter on the planet” by Sir Elton John, Wainwright reflects on growing up in a musical family (he is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and the late Kate McGarrigle, and brother of Martha Wainwright), and the influences behind his unique sound.

Set in Paris, 1970, Prima Donna tells the story of Régine Saint Laurent, an aging opera singer attempting to confront her past to again regain her triumphant status as one of the world’s greatest sopranos. After thrilling UK audiences last summer, Prima Donna makes its North American debut on-stage at this year’s Luminato festival in Toronto and stars opera great Janis Kelly.

This. Is. Happening! MuchMusic announced today that Canadian rap-superstar Drake and Canada’s reigning rock-pop group Hedley are set to blow the roof of the 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS.

Performing for the first time on the MMVAs’ stage, hometown boy-turned international phenom Drake returns to the city that gave him his start, while Hedley fans swoon over MuchMusic faves Jacob, Tom, Dave, and Chris. Don’t miss the biggest music party of the year live on Sunday, June 20 at 9 p.m. ET, with the MMVAs RED CARPET SPECIAL at 8 p.m. ET.

Drake and Hedley join previously announced performers Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Marianas Trench, Down With Wesbter, and co-host Miley Cyrus, with additional guest announcements to come.

“These artists represent some of the incredible musical talent coming out of Canada,” said Sheila Sullivan, 2010 MMVAs Executive Producer. “Drake has had an unbelievable year, and Hedley has long been a fan-favourite on the MMVAs stage – both these acts are guaranteed to blow our fans minds at this year’s show.”

Not only are Drake and Hedley performing at the MMVAs, but they also lead with seven and six MMVAs nominations respectively. Justin Bieber nabbed four nominations, with Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Marianas Trench, and Down Webster all scoring two nods. For a full list of MMVAs nominees, click here.

Fans aged 14+ should keep Saturday, June 12 – and the days leading up to it – completely free if they want the coveted wristband for the 2010 MMVAs, the biggest show in the country. The giveaway starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 12 at MuchMusic headquarters, located at the corner of Queen and John in downtown Toronto. Only one wristband per person is allowed and fans must be prepared to have it affixed to their wrist until the show on June 20. Music lovers are highly encouraged to help make a difference and bring a non-perishable food item for the Daily Bread Food Bank and, as always, photo ID is absolutely mandatory!

The Toronto-born actor and recording artist has become the fastest rising newcomer in hip-hop, scoring two Grammy® nods before the release of his debut album. Despite not being signed to a label, his first single “Best I Ever Had” reached #1 on Billboard Rap Charts and #2 on Billboard Hot 100. After an intense bidding war, Drake signed with Aspire/Cash Money/Young Money, and is set to release his highly anticipated debut album Thank Me Later on June 15. In April, Drake took home his first two JUNO Awards, while performing his single “Over”. Drake is currently headlining his first major solo tour, the Away From Home Tour, which has sold out venues across US, Europe and Canada.

Hedley fans last lost their minds when the band performed on the MMVAs stage in 2008, and the boys took home the most hardware that year, winning all major categories. Now, the Vancouver-based band returns to rock the stage on this year’s show. Hedley burst onto the music scene in 2005, and both their self-titled debut album and follow up album Famous Last Words are certified double platinum. Their third studio album, The Show Must Go, is certified platinum, and the album’s hit singles “Cha Ching” and “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” are double platinum on iTunes. A fan favourite, every Hedley video has reached #1 on the MuchMusic chart and the boys are sure to make this year’s MMVAs a night to remember. Catch Hedley on tour this summer and fall.
