Survivor heading to new location

Emmy-winning reality series Survivor is heading to a new location after two seasons in Samoa.

For the next two seasons the reality series will shoot in Nicaragua, on the island of San Juan del Sur.

With Survivor: Heroes Vs Villians wrapping up last night, the franchise has announced the new location and will begin shooting with a fresh line-up of contestants later this year.

The challenges that lie ahead in the small Central American country include active volcanoes and ferocious wildlife.

There are not a lot of details about as yet but host Jeff Probst has promised a bunch of new challenges and a heightened difficulty level for finding Immunity Idols after Russell Hantz managed to track them down all too easily in previous episodes.
