CTV reveals today a first look at the sizzling summer schedule anchored by returning favourites and fresh new series, including the highly-anticipated new summer drama SCOUNDRELS (June 20), the return of LAW & ORDER: CI (June 20) and the new reality game series DOWNFALL (June 22).

As previously announced, anchoring it all is perennial audience pleaser SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE  (May 27), which returns for a seventh season in high definition (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

Additionally, encore episodes of FLASHPOINT (June 4) and THE BRIDGE (July 10) air in simulcast with CBS, while additional CTV original series return with the premiere of all-new episodes, seasons and movies, including: DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION (May 30), HICCUPS and DAN FOR MAYOR (June 7), COMEDY INC. AND COMEDY NOW! (June 12) and CTV Original Movies TURN THE BEAT AROUND (May 30) and D:NYC – DEGRASSI TAKES MANHATTAN (TBA).

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning May 27 and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. beginning June 2 – NEW SEASON

Season 7 offers new moves with some exciting new changes including only 10 finalists competing, one dancer eliminated per week and finally, new competitors will be paired with show and fan favourite “all star” dancers from previous seasons. The all-star dance partners include contemporary dancer Ade Obayomi from Season 5, jazz/contemporary dancer Allison Holker from Season 2, ballroom dancer Anya Garnis from Season 3, hip-hop krumper Comfort Fedoke from Season 4, jazz dancer Courtney Galiano from Season 4, break dancer Dominic “D-trix” Sandoval from Season 3, contemporary dancer Kathryn McCormick from Season 6, jazz/hip hop dancer Lauren Gottlieb from Season 3, jazz/contemporary dancer Mark Kanemura from Season 4, jazz dancer Neil Haskell from Season 3, ballroom dancer Pasha Kovalev from Season 3, and krumper Stephen “tWitch” Boss from Season 4. Featuring the choreography of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA judge Tré Armstrong and starring Season 1 Top 20 competitor Romina D’ugo and Top 4 finalists Miles Faber and Natalli Reznik, TURN THE BEAT AROUND follows dancer Zoe Benjamin (Romina D’Ugo) as she strives to make it in the cutthroat L.A. dance scene. When Zoe comes up with the idea to revive the disco dance scene, she convinces wealthy club owner Michael, (David Giuntoli, PRIVILEGED) to open a new disco club. The movie also features a special performance by Pop/R&B sensation Jason Derulo (“Whatcha Say”) in his first on-screen role.

FLASHPOINT – Fridays at 9 p.m. ET beginning June 4 – ENCORE EPISODES

The Gemini Award-winning series FLASHPOINT starring Enrico Colantoni (VERONICA MARS), Hugh Dillon (DURHAM COUNTY), Amy Jo Johnson (FELICITY) and David Paetkau (WHISTLER) returns to CTV this summer. Canada’s #1 drama series follows the SRU, a unique group of cops trained in negotiating, profiling and getting inside the subject’s head at the very emotional breaking point that triggered the crisis.

SCOUNDRELS follows a family of small-time criminals who try to go straight after the father is sent to prison. Virginia Madsen, Independent Spirit Award winner as well as an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee (Sideways, The Astronaut Farmer), plays Cheryl West, the mother who must take charge and try to keep her kids on the straight and narrow. In the Season 9 premiere, Goren (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) investigate the murder of a wealthy businessman and his girlfriend, who were embarking on pirate-hunting exhibitions off the coast of Africa. Elsewhere, Ross receives a lucrative offer.

DOWNFALL – Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET beginning June 22 – NEW SERIES

DOWNFALL is a unique, high-stakes, adrenaline-charged and larger-than-life game show played atop a tall building in the middle of a metropolitan landscape. The game has contestants quickly answer a series of trivia questions against the clock. If they play the perfect game, they could leave with a million dollars in cash and prizes. But if not, they could just as easily see their hopes and dreams slip through their fingers and off the side building – literally.

THE BRIDGE, returns to CTV for a summer run after a highly successful first season as Canada’s #1 new drama, averaging more than one million viewers each week. The series follows beat cop Frank Leo (Aaron Douglas, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) as he is voted into office as the police union’s dynamic leader. He begins his quest to put street cops first and clean up the force from the ground up as he battles criminals on the street, police department brass and corruption in the ranks.

CTV Original Movie D:NYC – Degrassi Takes Manhattan – NEW MOVIE

DEGRASSI concludes its summer run on CTV with an all-new two-hour movie featuring original songs and celebrity cameos. DEGRASSI grads and friends dive into the summer that will change their lives forever. And what’s summer without a little romance – or a wedding… Best friends Jane and Holly J head to New York City, with big hopes and even bigger dreams. Jane’s dream to front a hot indie band collides with a love she never saw coming. Meanwhile, Holly J’s determined to make her mark as a TVM intern in Times Square, and settle into her role as Park Avenue Princess with New Yorker boyfriend Declan at her side. Back in Toronto, Spinner’s summer is hotter than he ever anticipated and with friends Jay, Manny and Emma in town – there’s never a dull moment. When Spinner’s hopes for the future turn to dust – he needs to learn how to rebuild and move on.

In this must-see LIVE finale, all of the contestants from this season return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time – revealing how much weight they’ve all lost since beginning their journeys. Joining them will be a few special guests from past seasons who will share their weight loss progress. There are four contestants left, but America has voted on the two players that fell below the yellow line in last week’s episode – choosing who will be the third finalist in the game. After the vote is revealed and the third finalist is announced, the eliminated player will then weigh in with the other 18 eliminated contestants to compete for the $100,000 “at home” prize. Then, it’s the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season’s Biggest Loser and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000

Banff World Television Festival is delighted to announce that Ian Brennan, co-creator and writer of Glee, will be speaking during the festival. He will be sharing his story of success on Wednesday, June 16th from 3-4 pm  at the Banff World Television Festival being held June 13-16 at the Banff Springs Hotel.

“Glee has become a television phenomenon, and we’re so excited that Ian will be joining us to discuss this show that has taken television audiences by storm,” says Peter Vamos, Executive Director of the Banff World Television Festival.

Glee, a musical comedy-drama about a high school glee club, marked Brennan’s first foray into television writing. He was inspired by his high-school show choir experience.

The series won the 2010 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series—Musical or Comedy and received three additional nominations for Best Actress (Lea Michele), Best Actor (Matthew Morrison), and Best Supporting Actress (Jane Lynch). The show won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy in 2010, and its first season earned a Peabody Award. The music of Glee has also been a commercial success, with over two million digital sales.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, Brennan began his acting career in Chicago working with the prestigious Steppenwolf and Goodman Theatres. He later moved to New York to pursue other opportunities in television and film, and has been involved with off-Broadway plays at the Vineyard, Playwrights Horizons and MCC Theatres.

Legendary rocker-turned-crooner ROD STEWART takes to the stage in a new concert special airing on Bravo!. The 60-minute sing-a-long for admiring fans, ONE NIGHT ONLY: ROD STEWART LIVE AT ROYAL ALBERT HALL, makes its Canadian television premiere Tuesday, June 1 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT exclusively on Bravo!.

From Every Picture Tells A Story to Great American Songbook, Stewart treats the audience to a performance of a lifetime – performing classic renditions of his greatest hits including “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” “Hot Legs,” “Stay With Me,” Maggie May,” “Reason To Believe,” “Some Guys Have All The Luck,” “Sailing,” and more – with most of the set list beautifully accompanied by acoustic guitar, violin and mandolin. Giving fans worldwide more of the beloved vampire film franchise they adore and vote tirelessly for each year, MTV today announced that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are confirmed to present an exclusive scene from the highly anticipated summer blockbuster “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (in theaters June 30, 2010) at the “2010 MTV Movie Awards.”

“Twi-Hards” will get a first look at a never-before-seen scene from the next installment of Summit Entertainment’s vampire love story movie phenomenon and the network will send their already heightened excitement into overdrive as a member of “The Twilight Saga” wolf pack hits the red carpet.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” cast member Chaske Spencer will serve as the official MTV International “2010 MTV Movie Awards” guest red carpet correspondent.

Spencer – who stars as werewolf Sam Uley in “The Twilight Saga” – will man the mike on the red carpet as part of a special edition of “MTV At The Movies,” which will bring audiences outside the United States closer to the biggest names in the industry and the most talked about moments as part of MTV’s global coverage of the “2010 MTV Movie Awards.”

Hosted by Aziz Ansari, the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” will be broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, June 6 at 9p.m./8p.m.C.

The top three couples battled it out on the dance floor tonight in a final bid to impress both the judges and the public.

With the Dancing with the Stars winner to be announced tomorrow night, all three couples managed to perform solidly across the two rounds despite no 30s being dished out tonight.

The judges selected the samba for Erin and Maks, the Viennese Waltz for Evcan and Anna and the rumba for Nicole and Derek in the first round while the couples were allowed to choose anything for the Freestyle round.
