Pitchin' In Premiere on Food Network

Lynn Crawford is doing the unthinkable. After a 24 year career as a five-star, high profile chef, she is leaving her post as Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel Manhattan for the ultimate gastronomic adventure.  Premiering January 4 on Food Network Canada, Pitchin’ In follows Lynn as she embarks on a journey across North America to reconnect with food, uncover the best and freshest product available and learn from the people who produce it.

In each episode of Pitchin In Lynn Crawford makes a deal with her local hosts – they let her work with them for a few days, taking in their trade and working hard to learn the ropes and in return she throws them a spectacular dinner featuring their product. Lynn takes on any challenge that comes her way, relying on local hunters, fishermen or farmers to show her how it’s done. From fighting off bugs in the muddy Louisiana crawfish ponds to cleaning up after pigs in Georgia and wrestling lobsters in Nova Scotia, there isn’t anything she won’t try in the name of fresh food.

“Pitchin’ In takes viewers on an exciting culinary road trip, exploring farmland and fisheries across North America and the high-quality foods that they produce,” said Emily Morgan, VP Content, Food Network, HGTV and DIY Network Canada. “Lynn Crawford’s passion for food gets her through each new situation and her sense of humour and adventure make this series a sheer joy to watch.”

“There is nothing more important to me than great food and this opportunity allows me to work with dedicated food producers who are devoted to cultivating incredibly fresh product,” said Chef, Lynn Crawford. “Each challenge is inspiring, humbling and often hilarious, and I can’t wait to share it all with Canadian viewers.”

Full episodes of Pitchin’ In, recipes from the series and special behind-the-scenes out-takes will be available for users to enjoy at www.foodnetwork.ca.

When Lynn isn’t travelling to new fisheries and farms on Pitchin’ In she’s working on opening her first restaurant in Toronto, Ontario, currently set to open in March 2010.
