December 2009

Cristina has been pretty free of personal drama since that who Burke catastrophe, but recently, her plotlines are revolving around relationships and there’s much more to come in the near future for her and a certain former army doctor! However, it looks like they just might brave the storm

According to E! Online’s most recent Q&A there’s more in store for these two when the series finally returns in the new year.

Q: Please tell me there is hope for Owen and Cristina on Grey’s Anatomy! I love them, and all this stuff with Teddy (Kim Raver) is giving me a coronary.

A: You are so not alone! But the good news is that I’m assured by a source that we have not seen the last of Cristina and Owen happy and together.

Word is there are many big fans among the Grey’s Anatomy writers of these two, and Shonda Rhimes herself just tweeted: “I love Owen and Cristina too. A ton of Owen and Cristina stuff is coming up. In January. When we air again.”

Is it January yet?

Dan and Jessi ask the questions fans really want answered immediately following the season finales, getting thoughts and reactions from the casts on the season that was. Will Kristin ever settle down? Will Whitney make it in the fashion industry on her own? THE AFTER SHOW’s gurus of gossip are sure to find out.

Bravo! is pleased to announce the world broadcast premiere of NUREYEV, starring SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 1 winner Nico Archambault in his first major television role. Airing exclusively on Bravo! on Tuesday, December 1 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, the film marks World AIDS Day with a powerful performance celebrating the life of dance legend Rudolph Nureyev. National Ballet of Canada Principal Dancer Greta Hodgkinson, who recently starred in Moze Mossanen’s critically acclaimed, Gemini Award-Winning film, ROXANA, co-stars opposite Archambault.

In the height of the Cold War, Russians lived, breathed and died for their country. But Rudolph Nureyev lived only for dance. When he took the stage, he captivated audiences with an exhilarating stage presence and a masculine, sexually-charged persona never before seen. Nureyev was offered everything, yet he left it all and defected to the West, leaving a political firestorm in his wake.

NUREYEV tells fictionalized accounts of Nureyev’s life through dance and dramatic monologues. Using original choreography created for the screen incorporating the memories of fictionalized characters, NUREYEV presents a multi-faceted portrait of one of the seminal performing arts figures of our time.

Nureyev died in 1993 of an AIDS related illness in Paris at the age of 54. Previous television briographies of Nureyev examined his life through documentary, archival and home movie footage. NUREYEV, however, is the first-ever portrait revealing the off-stage world of the famed dancer almost entirely through dance, namely the mythology he created, his own psychology and the iconography of his life. The film is also a unique hybrid between a live concert and a memory film, creating the immediacy of a theatrical experience, but also allowing for expressive effects achieved only through cinematography and editing.

NUREYEV star Nico Archambault is a Montreal native known for his phenomenal win on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 1. Most recently, Nico was hand picked to participate in Janet Jackson’s upcoming music video. Archambault recently co-founded the choreography company Street Parade, who’s work has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 2 and the up-and-coming Montreal musical ‘Le Blues D’ la Metropole’.  In addition, Archambault  recently teamed up with apparel retailer TXT Carbon to design a limited edition t-shirt, with a portion of the proceeds collected from the sale being donated to PREVNet (the Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network). Archambault continues to tour and create with the Montreal group Pinup Saints, of which he is a co-founder, co-choreographer and dancer who released their debut album Golden this year.

Co-starring with Archambault, Greta Hodgkinson is a National Ballet School graduate who has been a Principal Dancer with the National Ballet since 1996.  As one of the country’s most celebrated dramatic ballerinas, she is also known for her dazzling technique and articulate characterizations which mark her as a mature, brilliant and versatile performer. She has worked with some of the greatest choreographers of our time including Glen Tetley, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, James Kudelka and John Neumeier. On film, she has been seen as the lead in THE FIREBIRD, THE FOUR SEASONS, and THE RINGS OF SATURN.

NUREYEV is directed by award-winning filmmaker Moze Mossanen (THE RINGS OF SATURN, YEAR OF THE LION), and is co-produced by Peter Gentile (MOB STORIES, VILLENEUVE: A LEGEND, A CHAMPION) with choreography by award-winner Matjash Mrozewski (A DELICATE BATTLE, THE YEAR OF THE LION). NUREYEV is produced by Mossanen Productions Inc in association with Bravo!
