Meanwhile, the whereabouts and condition of Violet’s stolen baby are unknown.

Dixon and Sasha (guest star Mekia Cox, Bones) continue their whirlwind romance by driving to Napa for the weekend, but on the return trip a flat tire leads to a trunk of porn and a bunch of lies. Annie’s confident attitude quickly disappears when she realizes that Jasper (guest star Zach Sherman), the nephew of the man she hit on prom night, is a student at West Beverly. Navid continues to run the Blaze News and assigns Silver and Gia (guest star Rumer Willis) to interview Jasper for a news piece about his uncle. Things get steamy when Adrianna confides in Teddy (guest star Trevor Donovan). Liam finally finds a way to get revenge on Jen (guest star Sara Foster).

Several weeks after her near-death experience, a recovering Izzie (Katherine Heigl) returns to work. Meanwhile, nervous that there will be layoffs in the hospital in the wake of an announcement from the Chief (James Pickens Jr.), the Seattle Grace residents compete to survive the cuts, including Cristina (Sandra Oh), who attempts to work alongside Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) in pediatrics.

Peter (Joshua Jackson), Walter (John Noble), Olivia (Anna Torv) and Broyles (Lance Reddick) pursue a strange and deadly occurrence in Philadelphia where a bomb blew up inside a train station but left no trace of any explosive device. The perplexing and unexplained set of circumstances returns Walter to the lab to closely examine the human remains where he uncovers an unlikely energy source that triggered the explosion. With the explosive threat of more bombs and links to a classified military project, the intense investigation leads Olivia and Peter to Iraq.
