The new show from ‘The Wire’ creators is as original as their last, and as uncompromising

…a raw, gritty, so-real-you’ll-forget-it’s-drama miniseries

From the creators of The Wire comes Generation Kill, HBO’s critically-acclaimed miniseries following a group of Marines through the first 40 days of the Iraq War. The seven-part series follows the true story of the troupe’s experience in Iraq as chronicled by embedded reporter Evan Wright, whose nonfiction novel was the basis of the series. Real events are depicted, real names are used and as much as possible, the series uses the dialogue reported by Wright, a Rolling Stone  correspondent assigned to First Recon Battalion during their last weeks in Kuwait. Detailing the first few weeks of the journey to Baghdad, it is a profoundly gritty, insightful and realistic look at the risk, costs and ultimately, the failures of the war. Generation Kill premieres on History Television Monday, October 19 at 10 pm ET/PT
