CTV.ca Relaunched

CTV today announced a relaunch of CTV.ca, the online destination for Canada’s most-watched prime-time television shows and News. The new site offers a revitalized online look, simplified navigation, more options for users to access and customize national and local News pages, and better search function.  Responding to the growing demand for shows and entertainment online, CTV.ca makes it easier to find program features, video online and exclusive celebrity news. The redesign provides a more robust platform to provide an audience-centric Web experience, and a springboard for future development.

CTV.ca‘s fresh new design offers simplified navigation and interactive new features

The new site continues to build on the success of online video, and offers more opportunities for audiences to interact with the brand on their own terms. Audiences now have greater editorial control over content through features such as most-viewed video and the MyNews user-generated portal. In response to viewer engagement with online video, a rotator box at the top of CTV.ca can become a window for easy access to important breaking stories and events.

These changes round out features users already love, such as the CTV Video Player with full episodes of hit shows online, user-generated News galleries and video, reporter blogs, prime-time schedules and recaps, movie trailers online and entertainment news.

The new site is launching with some more innovative partnerships like the Wii Get Up and Play Challenge, which offers viewers multiple levels of uploadable content to interact with. In addition, both Dove and Dodge are on board to present the streaming of GREY’S ANATOMY, engaging viewers with attention-grabbing backdrops and co-branded schedules.

CTVglobemedia’s online network experienced significant growth throughout the 2008/2009 television season reaching almost half a billion video views since September 2008*, more than four times that of its closest competitor.**  This fall’s most-talked about series and last fall’s break-out hits join Canada’s most-watched television series on the CTV Video Player. New big buzz series FLASHFORWARD and THE DR. OZ SHOW are among 11 fresh titles joining the lineup, which already includes blockbusters like GREY’S ANATOMY, THE MENTALIST and THE AMAZING RACE. CTV.ca allows viewers to catch up with their favourite CTV programs, while offering exclusive online content.
