Anticipating the return of your favourite shows? CTV and /A\’s tried and true line-up of Canada’s most-watched programs are back for the official launch of the fall television season. Viewers can rejoice as the season premieres kick off another exciting season and answer the burning questions left after last season’s finales – Who is the real Peter? Which CSI gets shot? RECAP: Setting the stage for the dramatic and revealing first season finale was a sudden and unexpected attack on someone with close ties to Fringe Division, the return of bioterrorist David Robert Jones (guest star Jared Harris, THE RICHES) and the inexplicable disappearance of Walter (John Noble). More about the mysterious events surrounding the trio were revealed, loyalties were tested and the elusive William Bell (guest star Leonard Nimoy, STAR TREK) was finally introduced. The cliff-hanger: Walter visits Peter’s (Canadian Joshua Jackson) grave, which begs the question – who is the real Peter? Sneak peek: Meghan Markle (‘TIL DEATH) replaces Kirk Acevedo as a junior FBI agent.

CSI: MIAMI – CTV

RECAP: Horatio (David Caruso) fought to save Yelina (Sofia Milos), and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) went against Calleigh’s (Emily Procter) plea and helped his dangerous father. The cliff-hanger: As Delko was helping his father escape, Calleigh unknowingly shot at the getaway car. Officers found his father, but where was Delko? Sneak peek: The new season flashes back to 1997; Eddie Cibrian (THIRD WATCH) joins the cast.

TWO AND A HALF MEN – /A\

RECAP: It’s all about the exes! Last season ended with Charlie (Charlie Sheen) questioning his relationship with Chelsea (guest star Jennifer Taylor, RUMOR HAS IT) when he heard that ex-flame Mia (returning guest star Emmanuelle Vaugier, SAW II, SAW IV) is back in town. Alan’s (Jon Cryer) ex-wife Judith (Marin Hinkle) went into labour and Charlie, Alan (Jon Cryer) and Herb (Ryan Stiles) had to rush her to the hospital. The cliff-hanger: No one really knows if Alan is the father of Judith’s baby. Sneak peek: Legendary rocker Eddie Van Halen makes a guest appearance in the first episode.

RECAP: Penny (Kaley Cuoco) was undoubtedly surprised when Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and his friends decided to spend the summer working – at the North Pole. Can you blame the girl? The cliff-hanger: This leads us to wonder if Penny may or may not have feelings for Leonard. Sneak peek: Penny and Leonard try dating; Lewis Black (THE DAILY SHOW) guest stars in the second episode of the season.

CRIMINAL MINDS – CTV

RECAP: The BAU tracked a serial killer who chooses junkies, prostitutes and the homeless off the streets of Detroit as his victims and takes them across the border into Canada. After cracking the exhausting case, Agent Hotch (Thomas Gibson) returned home to find the serial killer. The cliff-hanger: There is a gunshot, but who was on the receiving end? Sneak peek: Hotch’s unexplained absence becomes apparent when the team profiles a killer who is targeting an emergency room doctor.

CSI: NEW YORK – CTV

RECAP: When transferring Robert Dunbrook’s (Craig T. Nelson) son from prison to court, the NYPD was ambushed by a group of professional kidnappers who killed a member of the team. The cliff-hanger: A drive-by shooter targets the mourning CSI team, but who is hit? Sneak peek: Canadian Sarah Carter (SHARK) joins the team.

GREY’S ANATOMY – CTV

RECAP: After spending time with a fellow cancer patient, Izzie (Katherine Heigl) contemplated whether or not to move forward with a risky surgery, and George (T.R. Knight) delivered some stunning news that sent shockwaves through the hospital. The cliff-hanger: Izzie’s risky surgery and George’s tragic accident leave them both at death’s door…who will come back and who will perish? Perhaps neither! Sneak peek: The premiere does include a funeral…and audiences can expect it will be George, following T.R. Knight’s announcement he will not return to the show.

GHOST WHISPERER – CTV

RECAP: Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) worries for her unborn child when she experiences a visit from a ghost. The cliff-hanger: The Book of Changes reveals Melinda’s name and date of death – her baby’s due date. Sneak peek: The new season jumps ahead five years, so audiences will wonder if Melinda’s preschooler will inherit her psychic powers.

RECAP: Allison (Patricia Arquette) dreamt of a future where an unfamiliar man is comforting her after the loss of her entire family. She later met the same man in her waking life while investigating a case and thus fears her awful dream will soon come true. The cliff-hanger: As the result of a stroke, Allison slipped into a coma before she could go under the knife for brain surgery. Will she wake up? Sneak peek:  Allison and her family deal with the after-effects of her surgery.

FLASHPOINT – CTV

RECAP: The SRU team was deployed to a hospital to end a stand-off between gang members and a man trying to protect his wounded brother. Sneak peek: Team One confronts disaster with one of its own when answering a bomb call in the downtown core. The team soon discovers it’s just the first in a wave of bombings by a mysterious eco-terrorist organization.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES – CTV

RECAP: In the two-hour season finale Tom (Doug Savant) passes his college entrance exam and convinces Lynette (Felicity Huffman) that he should go back to school. Meanwhile, Lynette discovers she is pregnant with twins. Bree (Marcia Cross) finally gives in to Karl (Richard Burgi) and kisses him.  Gaby’s (Eva Longoria) pretty, gold-digger niece Ana (Maiara Walsh) moves in with her and Carlos (Ricardo Chavira), and Dave (Neal McDonough) tries to get his revenge on Susan (Teri Hatcher) by harming MJ (Mason Vale Cotton). The cliff hanger: The episode ends at the alter with Mike (James Denton) saying “I do” but the bride is left unknown. Sneak peek: Andrea Bowen, who plays Susan’s daughter Julie, and Jesse Metcalfe, who plays gardener John, return; Drea de Matteo (SOPRANOS) joins the cast.

RECAP: Addison (Kate Walsh) finally faced her feelings for Noah (Josh Hopkins) as Morgan (Amanda Detmer) went into labour. Oceanside Wellness could bid farewell to Naomi (Audra MacDonald) as she contemplates her future, but perhaps the biggest turn was the threat made against  Violet’s (Amy Brenneman) unborn child. The cliff-hanger: Will Violet and her baby make it? Sneak peek: Violet survives the ordeal and this season sees GREY’S ANATOMY’s Chandra Wilson guest star.

DEGRASSI: TNG – CTV

RECAP: Holly J (Charlotte Arnold) and Spinner (Shane Kippel) were held at gunpoint at The Dot, and Spinner was shot. Mia (Nina Dobrev) started modeling professionally and has to juggle work, school, her daughter and her boyfriend Peter (Jamie Johnston.) The cliff hanger: Will Mia be able to handle it all at once and where is Holly J’s love life headed now that her feelings for Spinner are a little more out in the open, and she’s juggling a new boy, Blue? Sneak peek: The class at Degrassi is always growing, and this season welcomes more new faces including: Landon Liboiron (WILD ROSES) as Declan, Annie Clark as Fiona, Jessica Tyler as Jenna and Jahmil French as Dave.
