Host Jay Manuel and a special guest shock the Final 5 when they announce that they’ll be making their second international trip of the competition – this time to one of the toughest cities in the world – New York. It is a whirlwind as the models race through fashion go-sees, meeting major designers and the fashion elite in a bid to make an impression.

Last night’s episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was a recap show that looked back over the last 10 years of their marriage; however, unlike previous episodes, the couple was not providing the commentary about the history of their marriage and their children, at least not in the present sense. Commentary that was narrating the scenes during the episode was clearly from past times, when the couple still seemed to be relatively content with their marriage and their lives. Most of the clips shown were from at least 2 years prior when the sextuplets were still 3!

However, looking back over the past 10 years, it was clear to see that this marriage recently found itself on a strong downward spiral. As little as 1 or 2 years ago the couple seemed happy together, joking on the couch during their interviews and fawning over their children. But in the past year, things clearly changed, and it might have everything to do with their ascent from a normal couple on TV who just happened to have an unusual family situation; to a family who were living for the limelight.

In addition to the recap, TLC showed what’s to come on the series with clips of Kate’s recent solo vacation with the youngest kids while Jon remained at home with twins Maddy and Cara.  Despite their promises that they would touch upon what’s to come for the family in turmoil, that was the only teaser that viewers were treated to.

While TLC has not officially told viewers that Jon & Kate Plus 8 is on hiatus until August, rumors have it that we won’t be seeing any new episodes of the show until later in the summer.
