Comedy Central Presents on The Comedy Network

The Comedy Network turns up the heat on comedy this summer delivering fever-pitch laughs with the premiere of COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS with two 30-minute specials airing back-to-back Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning July 10. As part of The Comedy Network’s SUMMER OF STAND-UP series, Season 13 of COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS serves up 24, blazing-hot, uncut and uncensored stand-up specials.

Filmed at New York City’s historic Hudson Theatre, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS rolls out today’s hottest comics on sets designed to reflect their material and personality.  This season launches the laugh-attacks on July 10 with comedians Kurt Metzger at 10 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Doug Benson at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Kurt Metzger has performed on COMEDY CENTRAL’S LIVE AT GOTHAM, appeared on Important Things with Demetri Martin and was the stand-out comedian at the Montreal Comedy Festival’s New Faces showcase. He has also written for Chappelle’s Show.

Metzger-“ism”: She’s like, ‘Oh, I’m not a 10? What does that mean? Did you settle? Did you have to settle for me?’ Which is awkward because that’s what I thought we were both doing. Isn’t that why it’s called ‘settling down’?

In addition to being named High Times Magazine’s 2006 Stoner of the Year, Doug Benson (aka Professional Humoredian), has much more to be proud of. He has made numerous television appearances including LAST COMIC STANDING, and hosts a semi-regular podcast called I Love Movies  before a live audience at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.

Benson-“ism”: I was on the toilet for so long, I finally said to myself, ‘I’m getting too old for this sh*t.’

Other upcoming comics in COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS:

July 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT – ANTHONY JESELNIK
This young, good-lookin’ New York City-native has appeared on Late Night With Conan O’Brian, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Down And Dirty With Jim Norton, and Last Call With Carson Daly.

Jeselnik-“ism”: A couple of months ago, I gave my girlfriend some fancy lingerie, and she actually got mad at me. She said, ‘Anthony, I think this is more of a gift for you than it is for me.’ And I said, ‘If you want to get technical, it was originally a gift for my last girlfriend.’

July 17 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT – BRIAN SCOLARO
Actor/Comedian Brian Scolaro hails from New York City and is known mostly for his role as ‘Stuart’ on FOX’s STACKED with Pam Anderson and as ‘Gordon’ on NBC’s THREE SISTERS.

Scolaro-“ism”: Over the phone, a female orgasm sounds like a woman running up the stairs.

The Comedy Network continues to be Canada’s one-stop destination for all things comedy with a smorgasbord of comedic greats. With 20 more names to be announced at a later date, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS delivers big laughs as one of five stand-up series in The Comedy Network’s SUMMER OF STAND-UP. Let the good times roll with COMEDY NOW! Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, double shots of SATURDAY NIGHT STAND-UP starting July 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and SUNDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN at 10 p.m. ET/PT, starting Aug. 9.
