CSI Tops Viewer Ratings

Last night’s episode of CSI on CTV exploded to the top of the ratings chart with 3.2 million viewers, making it the fourth most-watched program on Canadian television this season. An average of 1.6 million viewers Aged 25-54 and 1.4 million viewers Aged 18-49 tuned in to see Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) and the CSI team investigate the murder of an undercover FBI agent found brutally murdered.

The episode, the second since William Peterson departed as a series regular, was also #1 in total viewers in its timeslot in each of Canada’s three metered markets – Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary – and with the two key selling demos (A25-54 and A18-49).

Among other primetime series last night, a special AMERICAN IDOL on CTV was #2 for the night with nearly 2.5 million viewers.

In next week’s encore CSI episode, “Let It Bleed”, (Thursday, Februay 5 at 8 p.m. ET), during the course of an investigation, the CSIs discover that their victim, a young woman who was murdered and found with several different blood types in her system, is the daughter of a wanted criminal. Nicholas Turturro (I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry) and Jason Lewis (SEX AND THE CITY) guest star.
