14 Hour Marathon

The countdown is on! With just 10 days left until the premiere of the first of the final 10 episodes of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, SPACE announced today that its weekly flagship entertainment show THE CIRCUIT will celebrate the return by hosting 14 hours of “BSG” programming on Friday, January 16. Beginning at 10 a.m. ET, THE CIRCUIT PRESENTS: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA DAY features encores of the first 10 episodes of Season 4, a special BSG episode of THE CIRCUIT, the a half-hour special, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE TOP 10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW, the broadcast premiere of the Season 4 webisodes, “The Face of the Enemy”, a special FANDOM FORUM edition of THE CIRCUIT and, of course, the greatly-anticipated Season 4 Part II premiere.

Fans tuning into SPACE, the destination for all things BATTLESTAR GALACTICA in Canada, on January 16 will first see the encore presentation of the first 10 episodes of Season 4 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET. Throughout the day, viewers will be joined by THE CIRCUIT’s Ajay Fry, Natasha Eloi, Teddy Wilson, and Paul Stachniak. The crew hosts interstitials airing throughout the day, as well as a special “BSG” edition of THE CIRCUIT at 8 p.m. ET, featuring exclusive interviews with cast and crew.

At 8:30 p.m. ET, new and returning fans of the series can bolster their BSG knowledge with an encore viewing of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE TOP 10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW. The half hour special featuring interviews with the shows executive producers, Ron Moore and David Eick, and breaks down the series to its essential elements, characters, locations, and key storylines with an emphasis on first 10 episodes of Season 4.

At 9 p.m. ET, SPACE premieres the Season 4 webisodes, titled “The Face of the Enemy.” The webisodes, which previously aired online on SPACE’s website spacecast.com, focus on Lieutenant Gaeta (Canadian actor Alessandro Juliani), in the aftermath of the fleet discovering Earth in the Season 4.0 finale.

The much-anticipated “Sometimes A Great Notion,” the first episode of the Final 10, airs at 10 p.m. ET exclusively on SPACE. In the episode, Starbuck (Katee Sackoff) struggles with the foreboding prediction of the Cylon Hybrid, while Adama (Edward James Olmos) and the Colonial fleet despair over the shocking discovery that Earth is a barren wasteland.

THE CIRCUIT PRESENTS: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA DAY concludes at 11 p.m. ET with a new FANDOM FORUM special. The hour long in-depth chat focuses on theories and ideas in what has happened on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, and what will happen in the Final Ten. The forum features series fanatics comic Seán Cullen, journalist Kat Angus, author Jo Storm, internet radio host Anthony Kingdom James, and is hosted by THE CIRCUIT’s Teddy Wilson.

Viewers fretting the end of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA can look forward to the prequel series CAPRICA, starring Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcolmson, and Esai Morales which premieres exclusively in Canada on SPACE in 2010.
Audiences for the first 10 episodes of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s final season, which aired on SPACE in spring 2008, ranked the show as the #1 series on specialty television in the key demos of A25-54 and A18-49, averaging almost 240,000 A25-54 viewers per episode.*

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is the gripping saga of humanity’s last remnants and their struggle to find a new home while fleeing from their deadly Cylon enemies. Redefining the space opera with its gritty realism, Galactica’s intensity, issues-driven topicality, and command performances have garnered it numerous awards, including four Emmy® awards and the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award. The show was twice recognized by the American Film Institute (AFI) as one of the most outstanding programs of the year.

The series is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick. The outstanding ensemble cast is led by Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, and Canadian actors Tricia Helfer, Tahmoh Penikett, and Grace Park.
