Eli’s visions send him back in time to the day his father (guest star Canadian Tom Cavanagh, Love Monkey) died, the same week his brother, Nathan, is sued for giving a heart transplant to another patient. But when Nate withholds information that could be detrimental to his case, the flashbacks help Eli to understand the emotional secret his brother has been hiding for years. This new knowledge gives Eli the chance he missed when he was young; the opportunity to say goodbye to his father and make amends.

Last night, the Top 9 finalists sang their hearts out in hopes of winning voters and the American Idol judges over. In tonight’s live episode, featuring Dolly Parton performing songs from her latest album, Backwoods Barbie, viewers learn who will return to sing next week. The contestant who received the fewest votes will be sent home.

Participants answer 21 increasingly personal questions honestly, as determined by a polygraph, to win $500,000. Of course, the questions are easier when the stakes are low but as the prize amount increases, they will be challenged to “fess up” to matters they might normally lie about. The touchier questions could be especially difficult because participants reveal their answers in front of spouses, relatives and friends hanging on every word. What deep, dark secret will someone divulge for hundreds of thousands of dollars?
