Top 10 Stalwart The Amazing Race Returns to CTV Nov. 4

– Dating Goths and Married Lesbian Episcopal Clergy women are two of the eleven new teams racing for the million in 12th edition of CTV hit series –

The five-time Emmy Award-winning series The Amazing Race jets back into CTV’s primetime schedule Sundays at 8 pm ET beginning Nov. 4. A perennial viewer favourite and a Top 10 series for CTV, The Amazing Race follows diverse teams competing in a race around the world, in hopes of winning a one million dollar prize.

With an average audience of more than 2 million viewers in its most recent season on CTV, The Amazing Race joins an enviable Sunday night line-up on CTV filled with investigations, adventure travel, naughty housewives and quirky crimes. The night begins at 7 p.m. with Cold Case, followed by The Amazing Race at 8 p.m., Desperate Housewives at 9 p.m. and Law and Order: Criminal Intent at 10 p.m. (all times ET; visit to confirm local broadcast times).

With Phil Keoghan returning as host, the twelfth instalment of The Amazing Race spans 50,000 miles and covers five new countries including Ireland, Lithuania and Croatia.

Teams are in hot pursuit of one another at every location and its reality television at its nail-biting best.”

Introducing the 11 new diverse teams of the twelfth instalment of The Amazing Race:

· Marianna and Julia Ruiz, sisters originally from Miami and now residing in Los Angeles, are ready to become the first all-female team to win the Race.

· Kynt Cothron and Vyxsin Fiala, dating goths from Louisville, KY., are eager to represent the “goth” community around the world.

· Ronald and Christina Hsu, a father/daughter team from Tacoma, WA., are hoping the Race will give them the opportunity to make up for lost time.

· Nicolas Fulks and Donald Jerousek, a grandson/grandfather team from Chicago and Elkhorn, WI respectively, are looking to the Race to forge lifelong memories with each other.

· Ari Bonias and Staella Gianakakos, best friends from Long Beach, CA and Fountain Valley, CA respectively, are a fun-loving team who is hoping their laid-back approach to the Race will result in the $1 million prize.

· Jennifer Parker and Nathan Hagstrom, dating teammates from Huntington Beach, CA, are super competitive and eager to set off on the adventure of a lifetime.

· Lorena Segura and Jason Widener, dating teammates from Sherman Oaks, CA, are hoping the Race will help them decide once and for all if they are meant to be together.

· Shana Wall and Jennifer McCall, friends from Los Angeles are ready to do whatever it takes to become the first all-female to win the $ 1 million prize.

· Kate Lewis and Pat Hendrickson, married ministers from Thousand Oaks, CA are a pair of lesbian Episcopal clergy who are eager for the adventure of a lifetime.

· Azaria and Hendekea Azene, a brother/sister team from New Orleans, LA and Torrance, CA respectively, have all the intelligence, wit and skill to the win the Race – if they can only handle their personality differences.

· TK Erwin and Rachel Rosales, a newly dating team from Huntington Beach, CA, are hoping to put their new relationship to the test while enduring the rigors of the Race.

This is clearly a shock result tonight no matter who goes. The unlucky couple being given the boot this week is Sabrina & Mark. The audience is not happy and very vocal about the result. Everyone is in shock to see them leaving.

MTV Networks just announced that they have added Amy Winehouse to this year’s line-up of performers at the “MTV Europe Music Awards 2007” happening TOMORROW at Munich’s OlympiaHalle. The EMAs are available to Canadians on television and online: the prime-time broadcast airs on MuchMusic, Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. ET AND to see it live fans should go to at 4 p.m. ET.

This addition to the existing line-up means that Amy Winehouse makes her MTV premiere performance alongside Avril Lavigne, Babyshambles, Foo Fighters, Mika, My Chemical Romance, Nicole Scherzinger, Tokio Hotel and at the EMAs hosted by Snoop Dogg.
